Read More Rating: - Good PrinterThis printer replaced a Brother HL2040. The toner gives far fewer prints, however there's no drum unit to replace. The brother would deliver 2,000 prints on a $50 toner while the HP delivers 1,500 prints on a $55 toner. Take the cost of a drum and 5 cartridges every 10,000 prints on the Brother and the price is about the same. HP costs about 3.6 cents per page to operate and the Brother costs 3.5 cents based on my experience. The HP jams less and is much more crisp and clear. Go with the HP every ... I use Windows XP, and the ability to print comes and goes. The problem seems to be related to the HP Windows driver. Too bad HP has stopped selling the very reliable HP 1020 and 1022 models.
