New Balance hit the nail on the head with these shoes. I ordered these as a work shoe because I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day. They have held up very well (2 months an hardly any signs of wear on the soles)and my feet no longer ache after a long week. Before buying these I would buy the $40.00 "off the shelf" New Balance shoes along with an arch insert and end up replacing them every 2-3 months. The NB 844 is offered in several widths allowing for a better fit. I like the EE Wide, which is not offered by many other athletic shoe manufacturers. Besides the good fit, this shoe provides stability, reduces foot fatigue and is comfortable right out of the box. I'd recommend this shoe to anyone that walks for fitness, or as a good all-around gym shoe.
