As I'm not a contractor anymore, I don't have much call to use this, but even if I never use it again it was well worth the $$ for the 25 sheet I had to hang recently. Rating: - Works wellI was a little bit skeptical that this tool could actually make it possible for one person to hang drywall on a ceiling, but it does work. We have been working with two people, needed in order to place the drywall sheet on the lift (not necessary if you are very strong) and working with 4x8 sheets. It swivels enought to make it easy to properly place the board, and then holds it tight in place until it can be attached. We were excited that it was such a good buy but disappointed when we used it. On the first piece of drywall which was a 12 foot piece, the hoist wheel, one of the supports and a caster bent. When we called Discount Tommy they said we could send it back but it weighs 100 lbs. We would end up with a refund of $59.00 after spending about $269 for the purchase and return shipping. They suck you in with a cheap price and the shipping is high. Well this store had a really cheap price and high shipping, but I knew what I was getting into and the total price of $58 item + $99 shipping was a good overall price. Harbor freight sell a unit for something like $299 on special! It's all about price to me - use a few times and it's paid for itself. |
