 Rating:  - It's MaddenThe most annoying thing about Madden 08 is you've got to carry the blessed DVD around with you to launch the game. That's not a problem when you're at home, but if you travel and want to just kick back and do something mindless - DOH! You didn't bring the DVD, you can't play the game. Performance on a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro is good. I kill processor intensive tasks (like BOINC) before starting and have had no problems. Haven't seen any image distortions that I heard complaints about. As another reviewer stated, the menu is garbled and some menu items can't be seen at all. How could this not be foreseen? And as far as I know, there is no fix to be had. I love Madden but don't buy this game until they fix everything. Rating: - Buggy VaporwareEA chose to port this to Mac themselves rather than give it to Aspyr. The inexperience shows. Fraudulently sold as an online game but online didn't work until a patch on Nov 22. EA should have tested it a lot more before it was released. Shame on Apple for selling it at Apple stores before it was ready - don't tell me no one ever tried it. After the first dozen patches, it could be lots of fun but disappointing for now. Rating: - Awful on new iMacI have a new 24' iMac and the program will not run. The text gets all garbled up so navigation is impossible. You can't even get a game started because the text is superimposed giberish. On the Apple site others report the same thing on iMacs. Really bad to release a program with such major flaws that it is unusable on the latest systems. |
