![]() Rating: - Great value - know your equipment!I paid about $30 for this light. It charges fast, works way longer than other lights in this price range, IT DOES COME with the bracket to mount it on your tripod threads. A little cheap, but made of metal and quite useful. My camcorder has a widescreen display and you can angle the bracket forward so the light will not hit the screen. I got this so I could record in fairly low-light conditions, the kids, etc. Does what I need for cheap. **To the people who say it has a green tint to it. #1 its $30 ... Read More Rating: - Nice light except for the ugly green tintAs others have said, the light would be a great on-camera fill light, except for the green tint. I was able to tape on a magenta gel from a swatchbook to take out the green spike, but the color tempeature lies somewhere between 3200K and daylight. If I add any more color correction on it, I think the light will be so dim that I'd be better off using a halogen light. It's a shame because its so compact and light weight, I'd love to keep this on my camera all the time, if only it emitted a usable light. Rating: - Great little light - but greenI was really excited when I got this light - small, bright, light weight and fits onto my camera no problem - and a great price for an on-camera LED light. the only problem is that it has a rather dramatic green tint to it, which makes skin tones go sickly. I added a magenta gel to it, which helped, but makes it a bit more of a hassle. If the makers could get the color figured out I would buy more and stack them onto each other....but until then I may look around for another LED light with a more true ... Read More Rating: - Great little light for the moneyI've used the Sima LED light for a couple of days now and, for the money, it's a great little light. The color temp is 4500 kelvin which is about in the middle between daylight and tungsten. I wish it were one or the other. It tends to match up better with daylight or even cool white fluorescents than tungsten. The only "serious" downside which others have mentioned is the fact that the battery is sealed. I would rather have a light that ran on replaceable AA's or AAA batteries. On the ... Read More Rating: - Bright, but not color correct. For an LED light the Sima was as bright as another one from LP Micro I tested costing $300. The biggest problem is that the light has a green hue and is therefor not color correct. Anything you light with it will be off color a little. You can try to tape a light magenta gel to it or fix it in post. Anything you light with this has to be within 10 feet to make a difference - though you can connect several together which is kinda nice. It's ideal for a closeup interview but not so ... Read More |
