For those who are just presenting, the touchpad is unnecessary. I found difficult to keep both items together since the remote has no slot for keeping safe the USB when not in use. I lost the USB and boy .. I regret it. Contacted the manufacturer for a replacement and no reply after several contacts. In general, this remote control is really great one. Installation on Windows XP is not required at all.
