 Rating:  - Very handy device!This little device has proved invaluable to me in my role as computer support. I have rescued data from many a failing computer by converting the hard drive to usb. It's much easier than the old way of slaving the hard drive inside another computer! And it is both SATA, IDE compatable! Rating: - Very handy and works wellThese adapters are very handy. They support both 3.5 and 2.5 IDE and SATA drives. They are a tiny bit finicky. You must power up the drive with the supplied AC adapter BEFORE you plug the USB cable into the computer. If you don't do this, my personal experience has been that the attached device may not be recognized by the host computer. Much less expensive and far more versatile than most external enclosures. The instructions are worthless, they make no mention of what the jumper configuration needs to be on the hard drive, so I ended up trying every configuration possible to try and make this work.
