Once I opened it I was so disappointed in the quality I sent it back without even taking the entire device out of the box. If you want to buy a detector for a child (and I'm talking about less than seven years of age, here) then maybe you'll be happy with it, but even saying that, I don't see it being worth over 15 bucks. Rating: - Best to Avoid This OneThe amazon advertising used for this product is misleading, there was no place to plug in headphones and expecting that this will find metal 24" below the surface is a pipe dream. We tried to do this in thin air and it wouldnt even do that. The term "Professional" used in its name is hardly a word I would use to describe this product. There is no headphone jack for private listening. The coil, which must swivel for adjustment, is all plastic without any washers to prevent wear. The arm support is hard plastic and is somewhat uncomfortable. The whole item looks like something you would get from inside a cereal box. For $50 as a Gold Box item it was still over-priced. Read More Rating: - Just received...New Update 02/18/08. - No Stars...I received this today, but I have not used it yet, because it needs two nine volt batteries, but thought I'd start a "customer's review" and add an update once the snow is off the ground here in Reno, Nevada. My first impression was of a Stars Wars children toy when I opened the shipping carton. This item is made entirely of back plastic, and looks to have been manufactured in India or China.
