Editorial Review: Product Description: You have just awakened in a world of ruin, having lost your memory. The world has been devastated by the "Blaze", which twisted the laws of nature. Meta-Beings now wander the barren land. In order to survive the world, people cling to their delusions, called "Baroques" and become warped by their own ideas. You must descend upon a mysterious tower, fighting through the foul denizens. The tower is constantly distorting, so you'll be in a new labyrinth every time you enter a room. Acquire powerful stat-boosting parasites and combine them to multiply their potency From the Manufacturer: You awaken to find the world in ruin, your heart beset with unexplained guilt. A cataclysm has destroyed the cities and empires of men and disfigured the spirit of humanity. In this nightmare, it falls to you to descend a mysterious tower in search of absolution. Battle merciless foes in treacherous dungeons, scour for new items to aid you in your travels, and unlock the secrets of a devastated land. You will find death in the depths, yet learn that death is not the end of the story; in the twisted world of Baroque, it is only the beginning.Wii Extras:

![]() Rating: - Caution: Not for the unintelligentThis game is a lot of fun. It's a great action-RPG, but be warned it is frustrating at times. The point of the game is obviously to advance the story line and also to figure out what exactly the story line is. The frustrating part about the game is that every time you complete a tower and advance the story line you start over at level zero with no items. There are ways to save a limited number of items from your last trip through the tower and you figure that out as you play. Give the game some ... I eagerly waited for it to come after ordering it and, in the meantime, I looked up every screen shot, video, and review I could find. I wasn't put off by any bad reviews because I knew what the game would be like having played many others like it in the past. Playing the original Rogue throughout my childhood, and loving it even more in adulthood, I knew that Baroque would be exactly what ... I like the voice acting and the fact that people talk when you approach them and you dont have to press a talk button. People do that in real life, they'll start talking to you if you stand in front of you, like in other games you could stand in front of a person and they'll be like duuuhhhh until you press a button. I just liked that hint of realism. The first time I played my aunt was sitting ... Read More Rating: - Don't be mislead! Great game just get your genre straight. This game is not an action game. It is a mystery dungeon style dungeon crawl with some weird psychological themes in the realm of persona or shin megami tensei. Very fun and complicated. Rating: - A poor game so farThe game is being sold as an Role-Playing Game, but it's more of a First Person Shooter. A bad one, at that. The graphics from Heretic, or even Doom 2, are much better than the graphics used in Baroque. The cut scene introductions are poor. The introduction is basically "Go to the bottom of that tower." The rooms are frighteningly similar, with the same monsters appearing repeatedly. This might have been acceptable on a portable, like the DS -- but to launch this on the Wii ... Read More |
