Editorial Review: Product Description: What does it take to rule the world? Imperium Romanum, the sequel to "Glory of the Roman Empire" lets you try. Set in the time-honored Roman Empire, you will marvel at the incredible attention to detail when working on a strategy to build a well-organized, prosperous and commanding settlement. As governor of a Roman province, the fortune very much lies in your own hands. Imperium Romanum is packed with a variety of new features to enhance the game-play, such as a complete overhaul of the graphic engine, a mass of authentic historical buildings such as the world famous Circus Maximus or Gladiator schools. The game lets you construct fortifications, towers, gates and bridges, all of which must be paid for with the new currency which has been implemented into Imperium Romanum for a challenging, enjoyable, yet authentic quest. New interface design, and improved economy and overview dialogues Improved battle system with siege machines where you command your own armies Vivid game environment with change of day and night as well as weather changes Many new units (i.e. Equites - Roman horsemen) Average Rating:

Gone are the days of Caesar II, when the city and province screens were separate, and even the military was managed separately. I think that if a product, like Imperium, could improve on the best qualities (province management and military) of Caesar II, then you would have a perfect marriage for Imperium, city building and RTS. Rating: - SEMPER EADEM...yes, basically EADEM!If truth be told, City-Management has been a staled game genre for years. Sure, graphics get improved, physics get augmented, various minor creative strokes get added; yet, the basic concept stays the same: build your city, keep the majority healthy and happy, maintain your finances in the black. In an attempt to spike this with a little RTS, skirmishes have been added lately. IMPERIUM ROMANUM is one of those cross-pollinating attempts. Graphically the game is very well made. Zoom in ...
