These generics look and feel the same. The differences are that these use mini USB, they will not use any Apple docking accessories. This will mount on your computer like a flash drive. This player is fantastic, It is 1/6 the price of an ipod touch so you have to start out with at least a little lower expectations, but really this player is great at what it is made to do. Which is play music, play videos, and show photos. Music is so easy to transfer, but their is not orginization if you just drag and drop. As others have said, the interface is a bit quirky but not annoying IMO. I love the simple drag-n-drop for loading mp3 files.
