Editorial Review: Product Description: The Pharos Drive GPS 150 makes it easy to keep your eyes on the road when looking for a specific address with voice prompts and turn-by-turn spoken instructions that include name of the street or highway (Text-to-Speech technology). The large 3.5" color touch screen LCD clearly displays the preloaded U.S. street level maps and navigation routing. "From the Manufacturer (June 19, 2008)": Designed for portability, the Pharos Drive GPS 150 offers just the right balance of power, portability and price for newcomers to GPS receivers. Measuring less than an inch thin and under 4 inches wide, the compact Drive GPS 150 is great for driving with the included car mount and it can be easily slipped into a purse, briefcase, or backpack for usage while on foot.
The Drive GPS 150's intuitive navigation software offers text-to-speech functionality that guides you with turn-by-turn, voice-prompted directions. If you miss a turn along the route, the Drive GPS 150 automatically recalculates a route and gets you back on track, pronouncing the names of the streets along the way. If you're on foot, the Drive GPS 150 provides a pedestrian mode that plots routes with pedestrian options and preferences in mind.
The 3.5-inch color touchscreen LCD has a 320 x 240-pixel resolution and a color depth of 16.7 million colors for a clear display of the preloaded U.S. street level maps and navigation routing. You can choose to see a two-dimensional or three-dimensional map adjusted specifically for day time or night time conditions. When you begin a selected journey, the Drive GPS 150 provides an overview of your complete route, the total driving distance to your destination, the estimated travel time, and the complete destination address. If you don't have a street address, you can simply navigate to a point on the map by manipulating the touchscreen and selecting it as your destination--the Drive GPS 150 will then calculate your route. The Drive GPS 150 also comes with a Points of Interest (POI) list that collects thousands of interesting or useful places organized by easy-to-find categories, from shopping centers to restaurants to gas stations. And many of the categories have subcategories to help narrow the choices--for example, under gas stations you'll find names of particular brands. Other features include:

![]() Rating: - Great for the priceI purchased this item on a whim. It seemed like all my friends had GPS's, tho their's were more familiar brand names. I have to say that not only I, but all my friends also, are very impressed with mine. It does the same lor more than theirs, and it was half the cost. Horray for me, I did something right. Rating: - works great ... short battery chargeIt works great for short trips, but must leave plugged into charger if you are making multiple stops or in use for more than an hour. works best when lift pugged into the charger. Rating: - good price for an so-so GPSI bought the Pharos's 150 because of its low price and the walk mode. It worked well for me for the first time. The second time I used it, it had an "desination.exe" failure and told me to shut if off. I did and was able to enter the address again. But it turned itself off after about 20 min while I was on the way to a new place. The unit would not turn on and I ended up spending 40 min more to ask around for directions and getting lost many times in light rain. When I got home, I charged it ... Read More Rating: - Works ok but..I've used the Pharos 150 for about a month now and its ok but does have some annoying things about it. First you have to depress and hold the power button for 30 to 45 seconds and sometimes longer before it will boots up. The screen is readable but not very bright. The screen is almost invisible with almost any amount of sunlight on it. Conversely at night it nearly blinds you even with "night colored " maps. One thing I find very annoying is that as your speed increases it incrementally zooms out. ...
