I was so impressed with it that I figured this was a very unusual problem and got another one. My vendor, WholesaleAV was fantastic and immediately refunded my money with free shipping back to them, but they did not have any more in stock so I had to order a replacement from another vendor. The sound is crystal clear and the bass is dynamic. I replaced my Sony 5.1 receiver with this and was amazed at the difference. You can turn the volume low and still get the full range of sound. I am still running a 5.1 speaker system and can't wait to utilize the full 7.1 capabilities. I did have an occasion when it stopped transmitting HDMI, and had to be unplugged, and another occasion when it stopped transmitting sound (from HDMI inputs), and had to be power-cycled (from the remote).
