First, air gets stuck in the pump section when you first install it and the only way to get it out is to turn the pump almost upside down so the air goes into the filter where it can be bled off. The pump that came with our pool didn't really move the water around well enough. Using this pump in conjunction with our saltwater filter has greatly reduced the amount of time used to maintain our pool.
