Editorial Review:

Album Description:
"Dying To Live" written and performed by Xzibit on the new soundtrack! The movie's evocative music (score) is by long time X-Files composer, Mark Snow. In addition to the score, the soundtrack has three additional tracks: Xzibit's "Dying To Live," "Broken" by hip-hop's Unkle and the "X-Files Theme," remixed by Unkle.

Album Description:
Original Motion Picture soundtrack with music by long time X-Files composer, Mark Snow. In addition to the score, the soundtrack has three additional tracks: Xzibit's never before heard 'Dying To Live', 'Broken' by Hip-Hop's Unkle and the X-Files Theme remixed by Unkle. The X-Files: I Want To Believe features an All-Star cast which, in addition to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, includes Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly and Rapper Alvin 'Xzibit' Joiner. Directed by X-Files creator, Chris Carter, the film features a screenplay by Carter and Frank Spotnitz. The X-Files: I Want To Believe follows in the footsteps of the immensely successful Fox Network television series and the first X-Files film, Fight The Future.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Haunting and beautiful
Chris Carter has done it again--he has created music that fits perfectly to the haunting and beautiful film. I listen to this music daily and never get tired of it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I Want to Believe
I've always enjoyed Mark Snow's music for The X-Files and this creepy, atmospheric soundtrack is no exception.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Decent effort for Mark Snow...
This is not my favorite X-Files soundtrack by any means but it is nice to have some new material. The main thing that is lacking here is references to the old themes. After so much time off the air, more of an homage to the series would have been very welcome. Fans of the series should enjoy this.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - No X-File here...
I have to admit, I have purchased all known copies of the X-Files soundtracks, or songs inspired by the television show. This one is probably one of my least favorites. I tried to appreciate the great musical scores, but was hoping there would be more songs with lyrics. I do, however, really like the song by UNKLE on this CD.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I really liked the score...
I really liked the score, but it is no where the wonderful level as the first movie score. They are both different movies with different approaches to the characters. I think that the scores fit where each characters are in the films. If you liked the movie then the score is a fitting piece. Overall, good.
