The noises are repetitious and would drive me crazy if I was a parent. If it wasn't so noisy, my cats would play with it more. When I purchased them they were definitely overpriced averaging about $23 each. The prices of the hamsters have come down considerably and are priced anywhere between $8 to $15 each. The hamsters are very cute and funny. My girls do love them and enjoy all of the funny noises they make.
