Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - nice overall workout but not particularly challenging...
This is a nice video to have in your library because it kinda covers a lot of ground. There's the warm up, the aerobic "high impact" kickboxing segment, the weights segment, the abs segment, and the cool down. I don't think it's particularly challenging for someone who's already fit because the most aerobic part of the workout isn't really all that aerobic and doesn't last all that long--Fifteen, maybe twenty minutes max. It's over before it really even begins.

That said, if you're only starting to work out, or if you only want to do a half hour's worth of real exercise, this is a great video. I find it particularly helpful when I've stopped working out for a while, and then start up again (like after a vacation). I usually need a couple of "light" workouts to build up my level of fitness again. So I'll run through this video for a couple days just to get back into "fitness mode." Once I get back into exercising on a regular basis, however, I never use this tape all the way through. But that doesn't mean it goes unused either. Currently, I'm on a running kick, and usually after a run, I'll pop in the video, and do the last three segments. It's a great way to get in a little strength training, ab work, and cool down after a serious aerobic workout.

All in all, I think this is a great video to have because no matter what your level of fitness, it'll serve some purpose because parts of it can easily be incorporated into your other workout routines. Of course, I wouldn't bank on this being the only work-out video in your collection either, especially if you want a cardio workout. If you can only have one, and you're serious about your cardio, Tae Bo's Advance Workout (the original one) is guaranteed to kick some butt!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - You WILL break a sweat!
This video is fun and not too complicated, lots of repetitions. There are a few places with bad cueing, and I don't like the music, but if you do the workout a few times you know when the changes are coming, and I definitely turn down the volume and use my own music! The cardio part is way too short, but I tend to do this workout after I've already walked for an hour, and alot of times I will use it again at night, to give my metabolism an extra rev. I take a cardio kickboxing class as well as a martial arts class and while I dont think it could take the place of that, it is a good basic workout, that has me sweating by the end. I almost always skip the weight segment, and just do that on my own, but your muscles will feel the one included on the tape. I like it, its simple and Badrino's accent is cute! He's pretty easy on the eyes, too.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - kick butt kicks major butt!
I purchased kick butt 6 months ago and have been doing it 3 days a week. I find that it is perfect for me bacause I am a beginner and the other videos are a little to advanced. My friend does it with me and is much more advance than myself but gets a great workout as well. We feel very energized after our workouts. I would highly recommend this video to anyone from beginning to advanced. The only criticism I have is that the instruction could have been better in the beginning.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good for beginners, but read up on proper form
It's been a while since I've done aerobics, and the theme seemed interesting enough to get me started again. I think the video totally missed out on explaining and demonstrating proper form. I had to read a few basic books on martial arts to do the kicks and punches correctly. You risk injury otherwise. Others may disagree, but it's supposed to be a kickboxing video, so it's not too much to ask for some slow, visual demonstration of proper kicks and punches. Badrino was ok to follow, but the other two seemed more distracting than anything else (they obviously didn't read that quick instructional on proper form at the beginning). The abs and weight workouts were good, though not much kickboxing there. Overall, I think it's a decent workout, but don't expect to 'kick butt' afterwards, or learn much about kickboxing.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Barely worked up a sweat!
This was the most disappointing exercise video I had ever purchased. Fifteen minutes of actual aerobics, hardly enough to do any good. Ideal for beginners and those who want to "feel" that they had a good workout with the allusion of doing "kick-boxing" techniques. The video itself is rather poorly shot with the camera moving around the ring blocking the view. One gets the impression that this video was done purely for a quick-buck, which no doubt it was! The abs-exercises were good, however, along with the weight routine and warm-ups. Otherwise, save your money on this one. You will work up a better cardio by parking your car to the farthest corner of the parking lot and walking to the store to purchase the video!
