- WITH OUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, THE WORST ANIME OF ALL TIME!Don't waste your time watching this movie, it will make you sick with gore. Watching the entire motion picture gave me a headache and I was disgusted with myself for a week for watching it all the way through. The first five minutes should have told me it was going to be horrendous, every other word was the "F" word. There is foul language, molestation, attempted rape, the inside looking out of a woman giving birth, severed body parts beyond belief, blood, vomiting, spilling guts and exploding brains, sexual situations, nudity, and violence against women and children. The only good thing about this movie was the organs were well drawn. It seemed like the plot lost its train of thought and was being made up as they were going along. It doesn't make sense, and switches gears left and right. It starts out with two physic sisters, and when the little sister takes mind control over the other, they combined to create a super power called Angel. Then it goes on to destroy there enemies and in doing so destroys the earth. Almost all of humanity was killed off in doing so, then it jumped centuries into the future. Then they have the nerve to put Christianity into the film and making the "genocyber" God to them. I did not know they could make a show this appalling. I have never seen an anime movie or series that comes even close to how ghastly this was. If you like this movie, I swear something has got to be wrong with you. Rating: - A Mess of StorytellingThe One Good Thing: Action. Some will find this worthwhile. Personally, it did nothing for me, especially since it is yet another mecha anime in an already saturated market. The storytelling is a mess, jumping either moments or years between episodes and throughout there is never one moment worth grasping as good storytelling, only continual, endless, needless, violence. I'd only recommend this for people who enjoy violence and action. Rating: - Very EntertainingIt's very, very, very gruesome and gutsy, but I love it. As violent as an anime could ever be. The plot and character development is a bit shallow but it's really not all that important when your going to get this gory. Some cool fight scenes too. I recomend it to all anime fans, even horror film fans. Rating: - Not perfect, but not as horrid as some people think.Genocyber is something you'll either enjoy, or be completely disgusted by. This OAV is certainly not for the weak of heart. The story at first bears resemblance to Akira, but goes off onto its own path eventually, although the time transitions could have been done a little better. The animation isn't perfect, but it's passable, and showcases the, er..."Insides" rather well. o.O Overall, I'd recommend Genocyber if you're a fan of odd sci-fi movies or ultraviolence. Rating: - Quality anime that should not be overlooked!Genocyber has to be the most underrated anime in this century that went overlooked by so many in US. It contains solid deep story line, superb artwork, excellent musical score that blends in well with each and every scenes, complex plot, and the characters that you feel for. BE WARNED!! This is one of the most gruesomely violent anime with sexual innuendoes not suitable for kids! Story is about two gifted sisters with incredible psychic powers. One sister (Elaine) has incredible psychic powers and the mind of a feral animal, while her other sister (Diane) is also psychically gifted, but with a crippled body which is only held together by experimental cybernetics...and cybernetics is what this movie is ALL about. Cybergeneticaly transmorphing into all powerful being, but the key ingredient is the psychic gifted sisters combined powers (literally), which is sought out by a evil scientist (the creator/the father) who is chasing the runaway rouge sister (Elaine) with his cybernetic ninjas who gruesomely murders their victims along the way, who in turn is also getting chased (more like followed) by a vengeful vigilante cop, while only one to be-friend and protect Elaine is a lonely, good hearted street kid who is chased and beaten up regularly by his older street gang members...and that's just the introduction. To some/few, the story is pretty complex where you might have to watch it twice to totally comprehend and absorb it all, but it is well worth it! Genocyber is an anime series that starts with episode one "Birth of Genocyber" and ends in episode five (which in present moment I cannot recall the title). The anime series takes a wide left turn after the "Birth of Genocyber" with story and characters that doesn't relate to previous series, in which you scratch your head and wonder how a VERY good start turn oh-so bad?? We go from a very touching scene from "Birth of Genocyber" where Elaine and her kid friend is fatally wounded, but for his sake, she covers her wounds with her arms and smiles to him, to let him know that she's ok and not to worry about her anymore.. to a out of control Genocyber causing massive destruction with nonlinear storyline few hundred years later?? Boy.. it really makes you wonder. Nevertheless, I STRONGLY recommend Genocyber 1. It's one of the rarity combinations of violence, action with a drama that touch the human soul~
