 - Super Soinc Speed!Many people were suprised about the success of Soinc The Hedgehog in 1991. But later in '91 Nintendo unleashed it's Super Nintendo. In order to bring gamers back they made Sonic The Hedgehog 2. As you may know it brought back thousands of gamers, even more! STH2 is one the greastest Sonic games in the world! If you emjoyed the first game ( like me ) than get ready for this awsome sequel. 4.5 out of 5 Rating: - A classic. Sonic 2 for Sega genesis is indeed a classic. A Game Boy Advance re-release would be great. I hope to see one that isn't as screwed up as the Sonic 1 GBA re-relase is. On Sonic 1 for GBA, the spin-dash move (As introduced in this game) can now be done and you can also save your progress. But what the GBA re-release on Sonic 1 doesn't tell you is that the game moves very slowly and sonic jumps higher and runs faster. If Sonic 2 does get a GBA re-release, I hope it doesn't go as slowly as Sonic 1 on GBA does. the only modifications that would be great for a Sonic 2 GBA re-release would be 1. Knuckles 2. Save 3. A flying Tails (as introduced in Sonic 3). Anyways, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is a classic game and I would love to see it re-released in more than just Plug N Play games Rating: - Sonic the Hedgehog Lives On!Ok, it's 2006 and I'm writing a review for a game that came out around 1991 or 1992. Anyway, I recently purchased a Genesis 2 system from a book store and I picked up my favortie Sonic game to go with it. This has got to be the best game ever for the Sega Genesis! I started playing this game on my PC with the Sega Smash Pack, went over to a friend's house and they had the real game for the Genesis! I loved all sonic games from that moment on! Well, time to stop remminissing (or however you spell that) and get to the point. This is the best Sonic game for the Genesis EVER! Pros: Cheap (Mine for about six dollars) Crisp Graphics Awesome Sound Cons: Fast Levels Somewhat easy bosses Shipping prices on Amazon -Sonic P.S.: Check out Shining Force and the Sega Game Gear! :) Rating: - The Classic Game Most Sega Owners HaveThis game is a classic, hands down. Like most other reviewers, I also recieved this game as an X-Mas gift. 'Sonic 2' came with the Sega Genesis pack(problably bought at Costco or something). I recall the excitement of opening the red wrapping paper and recieveing my prize(I was like 6 or so by the way). I didn't really know how to play this game then, I couldn't figure out how to go up the large hills in the 'Emerald Zone', or, the first round. The game is relatively easy to play, but gets harder and harder as you move on throughout the levels. All of my friends have beaten this, and sadly, I have not. I never really put the time into it now-a-days but I used to play this game for hours on end. The last level always gets me somehow, being one of the more complicated levels in the game(along with the level before this, trying to kill several of those red haired guys in bubble shields). In addition to the levels, theres also a ring-collecting race game you can play through jumping into the ring of stars the spot-markers produce. I could get many gems and jewels, but I have never gotten the final gem. You can also have the ease of selecting which character you'd like to play with if that rascal Tails is just getting in the way. You can choose to be Sonic alone or even Tails alone, or both. This game is a lot more funner and simpler then the first 'Sonic' game, and much simpler then 'Sonic and Knuckles' and I couldn't compare it to others as I haven't played them. Another interesting additive is that if you own the original 'Sonic and Knuckles' game, it has a converter on top of the cartridge so you can put your 'Sonic 2' in there and play 'Sonic 2' with Knuckles! I thought this was amazing, really hi-tech for Sega Genesis. I reccomend this game to parents, game lovers and kids alike, as its entertaining but not corny or cartoonish. Sure the new games have 3D graphics and the characters acutally talk but you can't turn into super sonic at will.Only on certian levels (usually the last levels). Also the special stages are fun (unlike the ones in Sonic Heroes).
