- perfect for a stay-at-home-mom!As a stay-at-home-mom with 4 children, I am constantly trying to get things done around the house while keeping an eye on the kids. This mower fits the bill! I can mow near the playset with the kids on it, I can hear them if they ask me something and vice versa, and my 4 year old loves to follow me around the yard talking while I mow! The assembly was easy and I really like how it mows. The grass looks great. I have a big enough yard (150' x 132') and it doesn't take much longer to mow now than it did with our gas mower. The only downside is that the handle is definitely a bit flimsy but it will hopefully hold out for us. I am very glad I bought this mower! Rating: - Its great on gas!Scotts 20-Inch Classic Push Reel Lawn Mower #2000-20 I love the width and the speed which you can cut the grass, however, the tall weeds that may sprout up seem to avoid the blades. Also it should be sharpened after trying it out. Its kinda dull compared to my my old 1947(?) American Ball Bearing reel Mower. Glad I have the shapening kit! Rating: - Buy a cordless mower instead! This mower is as easy to push as a power mower but it does not do a good job of cutting the grass evenly. It leaves single tall blades of grass scattered everywhere. I figured I may be doing something wrong so I tried different walking speeds and wheel height adjustments but still ended up with the same bad results. It is good exercise. I would not recommend this mower for anyone who wants their lawn to look nice after a mowing because it won't. This mower will cut most of the grass so it will keep you out of trouble with code enforcement. I am ordering a cordless mower today from Amazon after only three cuts with this Scotts one. What a waste of money this was. Also, it was not easy to put together. If you're going to tough it out with this mower I suggest you lubricate it before each cut to make pushing it a little easier. Rating: - Love this mowerI was very skeptical, assumed this was a green gimmick, but I love it. It's lightweight, easy to push and maneuver, quiet, zero gas, zero power plant emissions. It is easy to adjust the height now that I found the levers (they were tipped forward by the other wheel). However, this mower is for lawns only, and not everything we call "grass" counts. Coarse grasses with thick rigid stalks do not cut well, if at all. Fescue and warm season lawn grasses do fine. Sticks, even small ones, will jam. I just toss those into the beds while I'm picking up doggie deposits. Rating: - Mowing is a Joy nowI wish I had bought this lawnmower years ago!! I was fed up with the hassle of using a gas-powered mower. I have purchased several in my lifetime and they always ended up breaking down and I would run out and buy a new one. Last fall I brought mine in for the end of the season maintenace and was told all is well. It ended up breaking down while I was mowing for the first time this spring. That was the end of me purchasing another gas-powered mower. I read all the reviews on Amazon.com for the Scotts Reel mower and decided to purchase one. This is the best lawnmower I have owned. It was easy to assemble and works great. I have a good size lawn and this really does the job. It is light and easy to store in the shed unlike the bulky, heavy gas-powered ones. It is actually a joy to mow the lawn now!! I HIGHLY recommend this mower.
