Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - very good service
When the DeWalt charger arrived there was a problem with the plug-it sparked when plugged in. I called and the next day had a return label (pre-paid) sent to me via e-mail to return it. A replacement followed (I asked them to check it befoe sending it) and it works just fine. They were easy to contact and the service was very good !!
And..what a savings !!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just like it is supposed to be.. works great.. factory new.. good stuff
Works good. Didn't bring my bad battery back to life, but i didn't expect it to.

Charger is brand new and works well

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not a direct replacement
The charger this one replaced had a 'battery optimizer' feature that helped to restore older batteries. Dewalt recommended to use this after 10 recharges. I took the number off of the old one and found this unit. It has the same Dewalt part number and even has the spot where the optimizer should be......but it isn't there!

Unit charges fine, just thought I'd get the exact unit I had.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dewalt Multi-voltage battery charger.
The Dewalt multi-voltage battery charger I ordered and recieved is great. It does the job needed and at a very resonable price. And yes, it works on Black & Decker 18v batteries, that's what I have.
A satisfied customer.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Product has been RECALLED . Is Unsafe. Has ruined all my batteries, including new ones !!!
The review written says this : This is an amazing little charger that literally breathes new life into your failing DeWalt batteries. It revitalizes everything from 9.6 volts through the big 18-volters, but what's so great about this charger is that not only can it be used as a standard quick charger, but if you leave a worn-down battery in for four to 10 hours, the charger conditions the battery with a tune-up mode, and at completion, it has a trickle mode so your battery won't be harmed. NOW BACK TO MY REVIEW ;
It arrived very fast but contained no manual or instructions . I looked on the Internet and found none eihter . I DID find that these chargers had been re-called and were a dangerous shock hazard ( LOOK FOR YOURSELVES , just 'Google the Charger # and recall' or read where I pasted the ad ) . The LED INDICATORS spoken about were ONE (1) indicator and when you could move the battery around, twist it and try several times, you could get it to light . What does this mean though . Are you getting a fast 1 hour charge or a slow one to 'condition' the battery ? Who knows ? It may get a jar on the floor and the light go off or it may charge to it's fullest. If the light goes off, is it charged or just jarred and happens to go off ? You never know and never will as there is no Manual . I would assume that this "SELLER" bought in Bulk Form and packaged the chargers and could sell them at the lower price which they were sold at . It came in a USPS package and was wrapped in a plastic bag, nothing else , no manual or anything at all about the Charger ) The shipping was almost as much as the charger itself . Mine was from a SELLER no longer listed,( LOCOMODEM ). This Seller, after only 3 days is no longer listed and the price keeps going up . I paid only $11.95 plus $8.91 for postage . It said on the package that it was $6.36 for the shipping . A quick way for the SELLER to make an extra $2.55 for the 'low price ' he talks about . These things are sold anywhere from $30.00 to $90.00 plus or minus the shipping, depending on who you purchase from . There is a newer model now. The problem is the re-call and whether these have been repaired . The lower prices makes one wonder if these are the re-called ones or maybe reconditioned . They don't say , except that they have a yellow or green dot sticker near the date code when they have been repaired , mine does not . You be the judge and if you are a genious and can figure out when and if the battery is correctly charging, whether or not you will get a shock or maybe killed , then you are certainly smarter then me . That would not need to be very smart, but if you are trying to save money and pay for the cheaper ones, IS IT SAFE or just a SELLER trying to make money while he can ? BELOW IS THE PASTED RE-CALL FROM THE INTERNET :

CPSC, DEWALT® Industrial Tool Co. Announce Recall of Battery Chargers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), DEWALT® Industrial Tool Co., of Baltimore, MD, is voluntarily recalling about 825,000 battery chargers (model DW9116) for repair. These chargers are for 9.6- to 18-volt batteries used with DEWALT cordless tools. Metal clips inside the chargers could come loose and stick through the chargers' vents, possibly resulting in consumers receiving an electrical shock.

DEWALT has not received any reports of injuries with these chargers. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.

The battery chargers are model number DW9116, which is written on the front and bottom of the charger housing. The chargers are black with yellow lettering. DEWALT is written on the front of the chargers. The recalled chargers have date codes from 9927EM through 9952EM and 0001EM through 0031EM located on the bottom of the charger. Chargers with a yellow or green dot sticker near the date code already have been repaired, and are not recalled.
