- What a BlastI'm not a big racing fan, but "RalliSport Challenge" changed all of that. This is one of the premier off-road racing games, full of racecourses and 4WD off-road cars. There are three different types of circuits to choose from: Rally, Rally Cross, and Hill Climb. Rally consists of six African Safari courses, six Pacific Northwest courses, and six Mediterranean courses. Each has it's own unique characteristics, from sand, to dirt and mud to curvy tarmac. There are three different circuits for the Hill Climb, including ice, sand and mud. The Rally Crosses are the least interesting because they are a closed loop race. Then you have the cars. Dozens of them. Each more powerful and better handling than the previous. There are SAAB'ss (go wild on the 93 Vegan), Audi's, Mitsubishi's, Ford's, and even a VW Bug. There are numerous types of games you can play, but the best is going head-to-head with a friend. The replays at the end of each race can be hysterical, especially if you or your buddies are prone to flipping their car off embankments, rocks or cliffs. Plus, up to four of you can play at once giving a new meaning to friendly competition. The Career mode is fun too. Everything is based on points, and the more points you score the more Circuits and Cars are available. Race until the end and unlock that SAAB 93 Vegan, it's the bomb. Overall, the game is fun, and challenging to a point. Once you learn how to make the turns without losing time or spinning out, you'll pretty much clean up all the computer racers. The last set of races are actually competitive with the computer, but once you conquer the new supped up cars you'll bet them as well. The best is going up against your friends. Rating: - Let's RaceThis game is pretty cool, and if you are a fan of the Rallisport series, you will not be disappointed. The game does not take advantage of xbox's awesome power, but it is very enjoyable. Rating: - Not RealisticSome of the problems I have with this game are: 1)Tracks are too easy, not challenging. 2)You don't make up time on the turns. 3) If you floor it all throughout the race, your not penalized, finesse is not rewarded, and the damage on the car doesn't affect your speed. 4) Tracks are generic, and not specific to a certain country. 5)Feedback is gimmicky. This is a game for a younger audience under 10 years of age. For a more realistic Xbox game, I recommend Colin McRae Rally 3 and if your willing to wait for November of 2003, Colin McRae Rally 04 will be coming out. Rating: - Simply Great!Awsome game. I would give it a ten if I could. Best racing game for the XBOX so far. Nothing comes close. Excellent game play and graphics. Rating: - to me....worth the price of the X-BoxI dunno much about sims. Personally, I hate games where you have to accumulate money to make your car better, and then by the time you have done that the game is boring. This game is not like that. From the intro screen, this game simply WANTS you to have fun. Do you want to go head-to-head against a bunch of other computer players or friends? Do you want to do time trials? Do you want to drive the entire course backwards? Do you want to throw your car off cliffs? Do you want to teach yourself how to use a handbrake to peel around turns? This game has all of the above, and more. A bunch of different tracks, a bunch of different cars (pick your favorite! - mine is the Suzuki Grand Vitara) and all different types of races. Customize the music, so the game feels even cooler. Challenge your friends by going to the Rallicross lap tracks and setting the number of laps to 1, so the first person to make a mistake loses! Learn the best ways to hit another car to HELP you go around a turn but knock the other guy off the track. Customizable stuff is there, and it really makes a difference, but with all the other variety and fun in this game, it's not really necessary. I don't care if you buy this game or not. But I love playin it. I honestly think it is worth the price of the XBox all by itself. A :)
