- A great substitute for GTA, especially for younger kids. This game is definetly the best Simpsons game ever. I personally enjoyed the free-roam style, and since I'm not allowed to own GTA, this is a great alternative. Theres not much violence to speak of, the only thing that may be considered violent is when you run over pedestrians. Nothing happens to them, they just yell at you and get back up. You can also get out on foot and attack the peds with kicks, but again nothing happens. There is plenty of interactivity in the game, for example, when you go into the Kwik-e-mart, you can make the slushee machine blow up and squirt slushie all over the place. The driving controls aren't that bad, but they could be better. The missions aren't too repetitive, but they are sort of thin, and its easy to see the same concept was used for many of the missions. One mission has you collecting loose monkeys that are spread throughout the city (which hardly seems redone anywhere else in the game) The game does best with the different areas split up, because it would take far too long to get from one end of Springfield to the other. I've played GTA before, and its probably the easiest game to get lost in. Simpsons Hit and Run is a good alternative as a non-violent Grand Theft Auto, the grpahics are pretty good, the voices are straight from the actors of the show, the music is good. It even has a dialogue control, so if you are offended by minor swearing, you can turn off voices. (Just remember to trun them back on to watch the awesome cut scenes) Rating: - Same old Simpsons but wacky new game! This game is fun because you get to play as all the Simpsons in their crazy wacky world. This game is also full of Simpsons humor with lame jokes and gags. On this game you get to drive around in multible cars and compete in races and missions. Also the cheats for this game are super fun you can make your car invincible or faster or when you honk your horn your car jumps 50 feet in the air! Rating: - For any Simpsons Lover. Period.I do so love this game! Ironically, I hate Grand Theft Auto with all my guts, so to love a rip-off of it... But never mind that. I have gotta say, playing this game is just like watching the episodes. All these jokes, the locations, characters, and obscure refrences like the Book Burning Van are here, and if you take time to drive around in between missions, you'll find plenty of hillarious stuff. One of my favorites is a Krusty Burger sign that says "Try our new popcorn shrimpy things". The cast are all voiced by the real cast from the show, which really adds to the game. Especially when Homer hits enough objects and starts singing "I am evil Ho-MER! I am evil Ho-MER!". I swear I never get tired of that. And the enviroments are HUGE. It must have taken months, perhaps years, to get the game this highly detailed. It all looks like the show, except 3-D. The first level, I probably would have gotten lost if there hadn't been the convinent arrows pointing you to the next mission. Later on, I realized it's basicaly a big loop, but it's long enough that it takes on the appearance of a real city. One small gripe is that you start playing the same levels at Level 4, but if they made custom enviroments for those levels, it would have probably take another two years to make the game. So I'm content. The story is pretty zany and great, and I'm only at Level 5 of 7(I've had it for a week). It just gets better and better as you play. Now, you could just zip through the missions and be done, but I like to procede at a more exploring pace, so I'm still working my way through the game. Mysterious happenings are occuring all over Springfield, and the Simpsons get wrapped up in them when Homer investigates and Bart is abducted. Even though you're running around, doing all these pointless missions, the story connects them together well. There's some variety to the missions, but basically, you'll start doing the same things over again. Overall, if you're at all a fan of The Simpsons, I highly recommend. It's so true to the show, you'll swear you're watching another episode of it. Rating: - On foot, in the car, if you can get off the couchAbout 5 months ago, my cousin had Simpsons Hit & run. I absolutley loved it. i was so idected i couldn't get off the couch. This game has good things, but also bad things,; Good + all the simpsons characters you love along with their voices + if your like me you'll like being able to run over people + at the very end, if you get all the cards you get a free 3-D Itchy & Scratchy cartoon bad - nothin - nothin - nothin In other words, you have a PERFECT simpson lovers game, if you like the simpsons, BUY THIS NOW! Rating: - Not bad but not greatThis is the second Simpsons video game I bought. This one is alot more involved with the charcters and the story line than the other, but it isn't the easiet game to complete. I have been stuck on the same area for a month, to a point where I had to walk away from the game and try something else. if you love the Simpsons, you will love this game.
