- Exceeded expectationsI'll admit, when Microsoft first released the XBox, I was skeptical about it's future. I wasn't exactly bowled over by it's launch lineup, the controlers were ungodly big, and overall, it was just too much too soon. However, since then things have changed. The XBox has lassoed some great exclusive titles, and third party games that were only available on the PS2 (like the smash hit Grand Theft Auto series) are now on the XBox, plus the bulky controlers are gone, and are now much slimmer. What really makes an XBox worth owning alone is XBox Live, the online capability which has revolutionized online gaming. The PS2 can't even come close to compare to the XBox's online features, and the graphical capabilities of the system are the best out there (except for the XBox 360). With the 360 out now though there's really no reason to go out and buy an XBox, unless you want to play some games that won't be played on the 360. The third party support is also superb, rivaling Sony's with a slew of quality games (and games that aren't very good), along with a solid list of sports titles that translate better here than they do on the PS2. I'm still not it's biggest fan, but one can't deny that the XBox has left it's mark on the world, and it has cemented itself a spot in video game history. Below is a list of games that are essential to every XBox owner's library: Halo 1 & 2 Elder Scrolls 3: Morrow Wind Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Grand Theft Auto Double Pack (GTA 3 & Vice City) Dead or Alive 3 Far Cry Instincts Ninja Gaiden Black Forza Motorsport Panzar Dragoon Orta Jet Set Radio Future Shenmue 2 Burnout 3 Doom 3 Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Rating: - XBOX has more under the hoodWith the hardware and all the impressive games, Microsoft stands as the leader of consoles, XBOX and XBOX 360. I've played Blade 2 and it is most fun and uses the XBOX graphics and sound to the fullest. Blade 2 does not give much to do in the game. But with impressive graphics and sound and replay value of The Punisher, Amped, Castlevania Curse of the Darkness, Madden 06, Predator Concrete Jungle, King Kong, Outrun 2, and more. Microsoft XBOX has an 8GB Hard Drive, no other system has this. The XBOX has a smaller controller with the sticks and buttons in the right places. I had a Sega Genesis and a Sony PS 1, but XBOX by far has more games that take a long time to play. XBOX has the best Racing, Military, Fighting, and Sonic the Hedgehog though and old school game pack seems right on the XBOX. I know many titles have been brought back as Platinum hits so buy them up. I know Sony's PS2 is 128 Bit chip inside. And Game cube is a 400 MHz PowerPC chip. They both don't have a 733 MHz Pentium III CPU and a 233 MHz Custom NVIDIA GPU. XBOX has brake away cords fro the controller. I will continue to use my XBOX. XBOX: CPU: 733MHz Pentium III. CPU transistors and process: 28 million on 180 nanometer. CPU performance: 1GB/second. GPU: 233MHz custom Nvidia chip. RAM: 64MB PC100. Memory bandwidth Main memory: 6.4GB/s. Polygon performance: 116.5M/sec. Pixel fill rate: 3.7G/second. Shader performance: 1.864 G/second (32-bit). Hard disk: 8GB. Connectivity: Ethernet. Media: 5X DVD drive. Dimensions: 31CM(W) X 10CM(H) X 27CM(D). Weight 8.8 pounds. Rating: - XBOX IS A GREAT CONSOLE!XBox is ALOT more powerful than both PlayStation 2 and GameCube. The only thing is..not enough games or even game varieties. But the games it has are awesome: Here is a LONG list of great games on XBox: Far Cry Instincts:EVOLUTION Original Far Cry Instincts Rainbow Six 3 RS3:BLACK AAROW(expansion pack to Rainbow Six 3) Ghost Recon Ghost Recon:Island Thunder Ghost Recon 2 GR2:Summit Strike Counter-Strike Fable Operation FlashPoint:ELITE Full Spectrum Warrior FSW:10 Hammers Grand Theft Auto:Double Pack(GTA3 and GTA:Vice City) Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance Splinter Cell 3:Chaos Theory(i didn`t like past SC games but i enjoyed this one) HALO:Combat Evolved HALO 2 Brothers In Arms:Road To Hill 30 Brothers In Arms:Earned In Blood Medal Of Honor:Frontline Call Of Duty:Finest Hour Call Of Duty 2:Big Red One Return To Castle WOLFENSTEIN. PGR PGR2 all of them are pretty much great and i have 70% of the aformentioned games on XBox. XBox is not a bad console actually i think its the console for more Military fans, while Nintendo is for Horror and Platform PS2 has a variety of all. I have all three consoles and play on XBox the most since i am a big shooter fan,IF Metal Gear wasn`t a PS2 exlusive series but XBox series i think MG would be much better-MG is ONE of the reasons i BOUGHT a PS2 as well as GTA3 and Vice City. If Metal Gear Solid 4:Guns Of the Patriots was an XBox 360 game then i would buy a 360 instead of a PS3 since 360 has other occupying games aswell.I`m not worried about GTA-as GTA I.V. will be ported to X360 about 6 months after it arrrives on PS3 in 2007.God i wish MG was an XBOX series of game!-I hope that MicroSoft purchase Konami(aswell as Kojima Productions) and the Metal Gear rights so MGS4 does get made for 360 cos i want to keep far cry aswell. Of cosere if i win about £ 10,000 then i`ll get every console and game that comes out(muwahahahah). Here my reccomendations of the MicroSoft XBox: ---------------------------------------------------------------- ..................XBOX CONSOLE...................... Do i reccomend it:YES i sure do Audience:Everyone although alot of games for it are T and M. Portable?:Compared to PS2 and GameCube NO its bulky. Most pop. genre:Military Strategy/Shooter. Best selling game:HALO 2 units sold:20,000,000 Predessors:None directly but its kind of like a Mixture of Nintendo 64 and DreamCast. Successors:XBox 360 Reliabillity:Yes but occasionally some XBox console`s do break because of errors in the system. XBox is a wonderful console and is BETTER than PS2 if you were to ask Me-the only thing it hasnt the PlayStation Does have is Metal Gear Solid if PS2 never had that-i don`t think i would i have a PS2,Well maybe since my friend have PS2`s well.. Seeya and XBox is reccomended Rating: - Ultimate gaming system! (...)If you want the best action exploding adventure gaming system ever by the Xbox. The Xbox is the most extraordinary gaming system. The Xbox is made by one of the best game system makers ever, Microsoft Works. The kids will love to have it when they are bored or alone. Mom's and Dad's like it so kids stayed occupied and not bored! The Xbox is the best of its kind. This game is good for kids that like action and adventure. The Xbox gives strategies and encourages kids to read. It also helps with hand eye coordination. It would be a good purchase to get the Xbox because it is the best. The gaming system Xbox is unbelievable. It's the best gaming system ever Made. You should BUY IT! Rating: - The second best!I've had this system for over a year now and it's pretty good. To me PS2 is still the best, but the XBox isn't bad either. The XBox is more for adults than kids. Mostly because the games are M rated and more violent (mostly shooters and war games). At the moment I own 13 games (while my favorite is Splinter Cell Chaos Theory). I bought the XBox mainly because of the hard drive and the graphic card. You can download music onto your XBox hard drive and even listen to it while playing a video game (some games). Overall, the XBox is mostly for people who like war games and you will definitely save money off of memory cards and multitaps. P.S. Always keep the dust away or else your system might not read any discs anymore (This happened to me, but luckily it still worked).
