Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A nice idea that could have been better...
I have been a hardcore fan of the Kingdom Hearts storyline for some time now. The mix of Disney and FF gameplay really hits a cord for me that goes way back to when I was a little girl.
When I started to play this game I was overjoyed at the great very true to the PS2 game cutscenes and going back to the worlds of the first KH...
As time went on however the nature of using cards to open doors, dumping some of them to make room for others, and filing and refiling decks to try to find that one order that would kill yet another boss began to make me feel more like a bookeeper than a RPG hero. Plus, if you miss a single skill in one of the many maze like rooms it could ruin beating the whole game in the long run...
I have nothing against games based on cards but it seems like too much of this system is left up to chance if you are not the type to use a cheat guide from the start.
So for me COM gathers dust in a drawer while I wait though the next very long week for Kingdom Hearts 2 to come out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent game anyone should be able to enjoy!
I don't have the equipment to play the original KH (curse me and my PS1), but this makes me want to go out and buy it just to play the original and the coming sequel. I got hooked right away!

Music : I recently picked up the game again, and the music doesn't seem as good as I remember it. The quality is sort of iffy, but it may just be my system.
8/10
Graphics : My goodness. For a GBA game, I would have to say I'm impressed. The cutscenes looked like the graphics from... well, some of the older systems that you plugged into your television. I'm not saying they're bad! XD I mean like, PS1, N64, those kind.
10/10
Gameplay : I love that leveling up and building up card decks is how you get through the game. I have a hard time dealing with luck games; but, this one deals with strategy and patience. If you can't beat a boss, you need to change your deck or level up to get more hitpoints or cardpoints. Awesome!
10/10
Plot : I have nothing to compare the plot to, but I absolutely loved it! Sure, I didn't know much about Kairi or Riku... or, anyone for that matter; it was still one of the most enjoyable RPG plotlines I've seen.
9.9/10

All in all, a really awesome game! A must-have for anyone with a GBA.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - only buy this game if you loved the first or if you want to understand kh2!
i bought this game the day it came out 2 years ago- and got it for $7 because i used all my "Best buy bucks" from the Mcdonalds Monopoly game (when they had no limit on video games, unlike last year) and put them towards this. im reveiwing it now because KH2 comes out in a couple weeks, and if you decided to skip this game because you dont want to pay that much for a GBA game, you might not want to do that. it has a different story than the first game even though you go to the same places. the story that it creates continues through to KH2 and you'll probably be lost if you dont play this and want to play KH2. its a great game for under $10 but i wouldnt pay more than $20 for it. the battle system isnt great, but its not crap either. its different and takes time getting used to. its pretty much a love it or hate it situation. and if you loved the first KH and understood what was going on and all the twists and turns then you won't have any problems following the storyline in this game. i thought one of the best aspects of the game was being Sora, then after you beat that part, is the Reverse/Rebirth game where you play through the game as Riku. you definately want to play this game and beat both stories of the game, because if you don't, you will probably be confused in KH2, because the Organization XIII that you meet in CoM are in KH2 and is basically what the plot in KH2 revolves around. so, if you loved the first buy it and beat it for KH2!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not even close to the magic of the PS2 KH
The game has a far inferior battle system compared to its predecessor and is mostly just random fights in a series of repetetive maps. The GBA version has none of the exploring that made KH a lot of fun.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - THEY RUINED IT!
Card Battle!? UGH! Horrible!

Poor quality game. They ruined the quality of the original game.
I only have it because I love the original and am a collector, and need complete series...
