Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I Love playing sims 2
I love playing Sims 2. It is so much fun. You get to build your own house and family. You can also create your own town if you want. You can hop from place to place and play with Sims that have been created already. There is so much you can do with your Sims it is almost never ending. This is a great game to get.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - motorolla yes, intel no
An amazingly detailed update of the original sims game, with mind-blowingly customizable sims, and much more flexible building and dressing options. Gameplay is also more interesting and varied than the original: where sims used to have basic needs, now they also have personality-inspired aspirations.

For a motorolla-based mac, sims2 is a great buy, five stars.

For an intel-based mac, buyer beware. Especially under leopard (10.5.1), the game is extremely unstable, liable to freeze at unpredictable moments, to the extent to which the game is virtually unplayable. Aspyr's "universal binary" patch simply does not work to address these issues: as of the end of June 2008, the game is still inconsistently functional. Not recommended for intel macs and/or leopard.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Sims 2 for Mac is Worth Buying
This game is excellent! It has much more features than the original Sims, such as: directing and editing your own videos, the Sims having children that actually grow up, more housing designs and clothing to choose from, and indepth customization when creating your Sim.
The game has many families to choose from, with which you can control their fates.
The Sims 2 has a quick installation process and is fairly easy to play.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - love it
I've been playing this game since Sims 1 without any of the expansion packs. I spent my saved up birthday money on Sims 2 once it came out and have gotten a new copy every time I've gotten a new computer (3 since Sims 2.)

With an up to date computer this game is fun and addictive, if your computer has poor graphic quality or what not.... it's gonna be a little slow. I played on my family computer for some time and I actually went and got a book to read while it was loading between families and neighborhoods.

But with my newest computer the game is pretty fast. I play with Seasons and Nightlife and I can and have played it for hours.

Ha, it's like Barbies for older kids.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Better Than Ever Before

For years The Sims games have remained limited with poor graphics but altogether addictive. Now, the day has come for The Sims to upgrade, to step up to a whole new level of design and opportunities. The Sims are newly designed with more freedom to create individual and personal physical and mental attributes to make your sim anyone you want. They also have more options in their career and social worlds, and finally not to mention the all new intensely beautiful graphics. The Sims 2 has arrived and it's more impressive than before as the most addictive simulation game on the market.

One of the most anticipated features of the new Sims 2 game is that you can completely create a sim that is personal to you. There are many new choices you can make from realistic weights to different eye colors. You can make a sim that looks just like you, or even some of your friends; on the other hand, you can create completely separate lives and be God of a neighborhood completely invented by your imagination. From nose sizes to hair colors and styles that aren't glued to a particular face (the original Sims players will relate to that one), the choices are endless and completely up to you.

Secondly the new careers and social options are unique and hilarious. With new interactions from other sims and many job opportunities, there is a whole new world to experience. Sims no longer just have mood meters, they must have their GOALS met as well. They have wants and fears, passion and boredom. Every new expansion pack that comes out includes many new social interactions: Nightlife - Flirting and Attraction, Pets - Animal Interactions and Discussions, University - Young Adult Relationships and Hanging out. Along with their new abilities to socialize with other sims, they also have ever expanding opportunities in the career world. You can choose all new careers from Natural Scientist to Lawyer to Game Designer (included in Expansion Packs and unseen in original Sims.) The new life possibilities are endless and a visual feast for the eyes.

The graphics in the Sims 2 are unprecedented in any previous attempts in The Sims games. Everything about The Sims 2 is new, from houses with more than two stories to zoom capabilities that allow an upfront view of your teen sims zits. The rotation options are 360 degrees with no stiff 90 degree jumps, and you can change the angle to be an ariel view of your home, to face forward view of your sims. Since you have all new abilities to see the graphics, the graphics themselves must be spectacular. The carpeting, chair covers and even water from the sink is more realistic than any of the previous sims games. The sims themselves move with more freedom and natural flow.

In conclusion the Sims 2 game completely blows it's predecessor out of the water. The graphics will tease your eyes and your new sim's life will amaze your imagination. The possibilities are open and you are free to set your own limit - which is usually the sky. The game is hilarious, entertaining; and if you are particularly socially inept, it could be educational.
