- I use it all the timeACT 2006 is definitely better than ACT 2005 because it's not as clunky but it still required some calls to tech support to get the synchronization working but I still love it. Compared to what's out there, I think you get a lot of bang for your buck. Rating: - ACT -- happyI've used ACT 2000 (!!!) for years and years now. I've never had a single OS problem. It's lived through computer upgrades to OS and hard drive moves. Not a hiccup anytime. I've never been inclined to upgrade as the upgrades seem to take away features I have in ACT 2000. Rating: - Training Analyst who adores Act!Okay, for those of you who are completely new to ACT 2006, this review is coming from someone who had no experience in using this software nor any prior knowledge of this product. I know reading most of these reviews sound very discouraging and in some cases down right horrific. However, I have been working with ACT 2006 for over a month. I've downloaded it onto my HP laptop. I can truely say that I prayed before loading it, but I don't think it was necessary because ACT has been wonderful to me. My profession only requires me to keep contact information and activities. It allows me to customize the fields, lists and reports to meet my needs and I think that's just awesome. I don't use the sales module at all. I was totally unorganized before using ACT, thus the reason why I took my chances. ACT is a downloadable product. You must meet the minimum system requirements. Like many other software requirements, when you do not meet them, it causes havoc on your computer. If you have an old computer that doesn't have the space or if you have a computer that already have a bunch of crap on it, of course the programs will be slow and in some cases, shut your computer down. That's with any product. For me, when I am utilizing ACT, I only have a few things running at the same time(Outlook, 1 internet browser and maybe a MS document). Also, most times I don't even have outlook opened because I am able to send emails through ACT and read them as well. It integrates nicely if you ask me. This software is so affordable on Amazon if you need a quick solution to managing contacts. If you have any questions, please email me at satinwaves@aol.com. P.S. Check out www.act.com and do a TEST DRIVE Cee Rating: - 0 Stars - ACT 2006 does not even deserve one.I too have been a user of ACT! for over 10 years. The previous versions before SAGE got hold of it were great. This 2006 version SUCKS! How I see it, they want to sell you support after the original low price software purchase. The support is AWFULL!! I sat on hold for 29 minutes several times before I got the "I see you have not purchased our extended support plan" comment. I get all kinds of error messages for no reason at all. I cannot use ANY of my previous templates I designed over the last 10 years. I tried printing a simple contact report, guess what, no contact information was printed, only the header and footer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME ON THIS HORRIBLE PRODUCT. You've been warned! Rating: - Nothing but problems with Act 2006I have used Act for close to 10 years. My previous version Act 4.0 was a much better program than 2006. I have experienced too many problems to mention. Maybe 2007 is better. I'm considering using a different program altogether.
