 - BraunPurchased for ice crushing ability, was not disappointed. Used to make ice drinks and smoothies daily, high rating on Consumer Reports. Rating:  - Ice Crusher 2008!For the price this is a great ice crusher. I read other reviews before purchasing complaining about the blades but if you read the instructions they ask that you do 7 cubes ( or frozen fruit pieces)at a time and the machine crushes those quickly and uniformly ( almost sno-cone consistency!) without damaging the blades. If you( or a non-instruction reading member of your household) do overwhelm the blades you can purchase replacements online. It blends very well. I have made Pina Coladas and smoothies and pureed soups with this Blender. Every part is dishwasher safe and it has a large capacity. Rating: - braun blender MX2050This machine works significantly better than a much more expensive and much heavier Kitchen Aid that we bought. It chops up frozen fruit very well for blender shakes. Rating: - Great value for great blenderLike many I chose this blender based on it's consumer reports recommendation and customer reviews on Amazon. I use my blender at least twice a day for smoothies, etc. and was very disappointed in the Cuisinart I had before. When it broke I was looking for a replacement that worked well and was surprised (and a bit skeptical) that the price was so low. Believe it, though! I love this blender. It's not the best looking out there, but don't be fooled. As I said, I use my blender at least twice a day and it works so much better than the pricier, better looking model I replaced. I'm not expecting it to last forever, not because it's quality, but because of my frequent use of it. I'll definately buy another one of these without hesitation. Rating: - Das BlenderWe bought the blender based on Consumer reports review and can say we are very pleased with the performance of the product and shipping from the vendor (Beach camera). We've made 10-15 shakes and 1lb pureed tomatoes with flawless performance. One minor caution is having to hold the top on because the power of the blender can push the lid off which has happened. Cleaning has been easy in the dishwasher. Features we mostly like are the glass carafe and dial knob and weight/ruggedness of this product. Thanks Amazon for your quick service to the military APO.
