Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Very Uncomfortable, and requires additional purchase.
These headphones are very uncomfortable to wear. They bend your ear back into an unnatural position. This is only tolerable for a few minutes and then you will find yourself taking them off. The plastic that folds around the back of your ear is hard plastic and bends out at the end.

The sound quality is reasonable, but nothing that great. Basically they sound like something you could be handed on an airplane to watch the in-flight movie.

You also have to buy the other set off headphones from Sony to get the "remote control". Surprisingly, this headset will not work out of the box to make Skype calls (the reason I bought them) without buying the other cheap earphones from Sony also. The only color available for the PSP-2000 at the moment is white (so the cords will not match). If you can wait until mid April, Amazon will be selling the "Skype" version that will include the remote control.

The microphone, on the other hand, is nice. It is not intrusive and bends to wherever you need it to go.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great
worked great once i got my remote so i could connect it to my psp 2000 vs

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Decent earphones, decent mic, and not just for the PSP
I have a PSP and a few games for it which benefit from the headset, and for that purpose it works nicely. The audio is somewhat lacking on bass compared to my other slip-over headphones and the mic is a little tricky to get in place every time I put these on. Aside from those issues they work fine when playing SOCOM/etc.; I can hear everyone and everyone can hear me.

However, this headset also has an additional perk which Sony probably should have made a bit more clear: it uses a basic "4-pole" stereo plug to interface with the PSP remote, the same plug configuration used in various portable devices and, most prominently, the iPhone. The plug even fits into the annoyingly small opening on the iPhone without the need for an adapter and gives you both headphone and microphone functionality, and since the audio quality is roughly the same between this headset and the iPhone's included ear buds (a little better actually) I have started using the headset in favor of the ear buds, which hurt my ears anyway.

As another reviewer mentioned you have to have the remote unit to use this headset with the PSP (at least to be able to use the mic) which costs roughly the same amount. If you didn't buy a PSP bundle that included the remote control the final price can wind up being fairly expensive for a simple headphone/mic combo, but unfortunately due to the proprietary nature of the port on the PSP you have little choice than to shell out the money. I have seen some third-party ear bud/mic combo units which plug directly into the PSP at stores like Gamestop/etc., but none of the slip-over variety and all of somewhat dubious quality. (Based on what I saw anyway)

I do think there's some room for improvement, particularly in the area of bass response on these things. I do however really like the fact that the headset is based on slip-over earphones, rather than ear buds or a fully connected headset, and the fact that it uses a standard (though somewhat uncommon) plug is a pleasant surprise from the typically all-too-proprietary Sony. Until some third-party comes out with a similar headset with more bass this is the headset to get if you plan on playing any SOCOM/etc. online.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works great
My husband is an avid SOCOM player. As most of you who play know, a mic is a must. When I purchased his PSP I noted that it didn't come with a mic and purchased this one. The only thing I didn't know is that you have to have the control piece or it won't work. He's had it for 3 months now and uses it 3 or 4 times a week, hasn't failed him yet.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Do not buy !
JUNK! My mic doesn't work at all. The other reviewer is the only person that i've heard of that it actually works. I've read alot about other gamers casque mics not working either. Do not buy! Save your money. It also doesn't tell you, you need the psp remote that comes with the more expensive psp box. So i wasted 40 bucks on nothing!
