- Over-PricedDid not do my homework this time. On-line price was nearly double in-store prices. Good toy! Rating: - Volume control issue "Not parent friendly"I own the pink version of this product...identical but instead...pink. Aside from the following, this beginner laptop has its uses, it no doubt educates but because of the following, this toy can be a parent's nightmare. ** On the lower right of the "screen" flap, there exists a volume control meant for parents, but it is most used by the child. The loudest setting for the volume is not the issue, but the monkey shreeks that play non-stop to give you an audible example of the volume level. I would expect that when pressing this button, you would hear the monkey shreeks to adjust the volume and then continue on...BUT, when the volume button is pressed and then the child walks away from the unit, the monkey shreeks continue non-stop until the unit goes into power saver "off" mode after 2-3 minutes or another key is pressed. My daughter presses this button last and then walks away...leaving me to travel to the other side of the home to stop the incessant monkey from shreeking. If you can handle this sometimes rude Chinese joke being played on us Americans, you will enjoy this product, however in my home, it may well sit in the closet until my daughter can learn not to just press the "monkey button" and walk away. Rating: - amazing value for the pricemy then 3 year old son got this from santa for christmas. i was sceptical, for the price i didn't expect much. but, i did want my son to have his own lap top so he'd leave mine alone :) i figured for the price we'd try it out. he loved it instantly, as did my then 1 year old. she is now 2, and he is 4, and they still love it. my 2 year old knows all her letters, as does my 4 year old. my son shows ME how to play the games. they are simple, but completely age appropriate. the sounds do get annoying, and the graphics are circa 1984, but i wouldn't really expect more for $21. it's also super durable. both children have repeatedly thrown, dropped and stood on it, and you can't tell at all. my only complaints are that the mouse comes off too easily, and that i wish it had a light up screen. my son plays on it for 15 minutes at bedtime after stories, and it's hard to see. well, for me at least, he says it's just fine. guess my eyes are getting old. overall i think this is one of the best purchases we, uh, santa, has made. Rating: - Good labtop just wish it was in colorI hoped this would help keep my toddler away from my labtop but she really likes the color monitor on my labtop compared to the black/white monitor on her labtop. Besides that everything else on the labtop is great. Rating: - Highly Fun and EducationalMy son, who's 3 got this as a birthday presentfor his third birthday, and is one of his favorite toys. He takes (& asks for it) wherever we go. Not to mention it is a great learning tool for all sort of things. From phonics to making up your own musical song. Also the 'interactive' monkey is very cute. This one is bit better than the Fisher-Price Fun 2 Learn laptop. The screen on this is better and very clear (not green). I was thinking of actually buying this for him as one of his birthday presents, and decided that with some of his birthday $ I would then buy it. I didn't have to now. Not to mention it is very durable, my son has drop a few times and it still works like brand new.VTech Tote 'N Go Laptop Plus
