TiVo AG0100 Wireless G USB Network Adapter for TiVo Series2 & Series3 DVRs perfect reception right out of the box.love it

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simply works
The TiVo Wireless G USB Network adapter is easy to use, and works well.

Just plug it in, select the name of your network & enter the security information (your wireless encryption key) and you are good to go.

I did a little research before I purchased the adapter, it may be useful to others. Here is what I found:

- Other Wireless G network adapters are cheaper, why can't I just get one of them?

Answer: You may be able to get another adapter to work, but there are some possible drawbacks. First, other adapters may or may not work (there was a small list of old 802.11B adapters that were reported to work, but the list of ones that didn't work was just as long. And I could not find a list of current G adapters.) If you just happen to have one laying about, give it a try! But I would not go buy a non TiVo that I could not return without hassle. Second, I read that the TiVo adapter does some pre-processing of the data, taking some of the load off of the TiVo main processor. (True or not, I don't really have a way of knowing... but the main TiVo processor does seem to take a lot of time indexing information, so it seems possible that the adapter could pre process and/or cache data to make things go faster.)

- What about 802.11N? It is faster, why would I want an "old" G adapter?

Answer: From what I have read, the current TiVo DVRs just are not powerful enough to make good use of the faster data connection available with 802.11N. (This seems to mesh with the info about the TiVo Adapter taking some of the load info I found.)

Hope this helps... Happy Shopping!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Go TiVo!
This is my first TiVo (gift) and my friend suggested I get the wireless. I think it's great and allows for an abundance of access and features! It's worked well and set up was easy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It works fine.....
I purchased 2 of the tivo wireless G USB network adapters and they work fine. I used them to connect the two tivos I have as well as connect them to my computer. I initally looked at Best Buy to buy an adapter that was compatible with Tivo, but they could not guarantee that is would work. They had this product at Best Buy, but about $30 more per adapter. FYI if you have problems connecting with TIVO, call the help line at Tivo. They were super helpful. I did not wait on hold for more than 3 minutes before I spoke with someone.
