- Works as advertisedI am an oil painter and I like to archive photos of my work. I have long been frustrated by the color alterations that I see on my various monitors and when printing. The ColorVision Spyder2 should at least give me a more trustworthy on-screen representation. I do see the difference after calibration, but have yet to do exhaustive tests of my own to see how the color realism compares with the original paintings. The product was very easy to use and appears to work as advertised. Rating: - Nice productSince I got a new printer, my monitor was way out of callibration (printing way too dark) until I bought, and used this. It's not hard to use and very effective. Rating: - Terrible softwareSeems like it would be a great product if the software wasn't so bad. The profile chooser software is terrible. Constant messages and errors and they still haven't fixed it. I have to constantly select the correct color profile at bootup and nothing I've tried seems to fix that. When I do run with the color profile, it's great though, so I give it 3 stars. 5 is the software was good. Rating: - Easy to use, reasonable priceThe Spyder2 is very simple to use. However, the provided software give only limited setting. The calibrator and the weigh not balance well while hanging on the monitor. I have to hold the cord while calibrating. Otherwise, it's very good. Rating: - Decent... if you have only one displayReally not evolved beyond what SuperMac Technology was doing via ADB connections 15 years ago... and completely useless for calibrating a multi-display system. That basic capability is only supported via the "PRO" model for $100 more, which Amazon's description fails to mention.
