- Loads of fun !!I don't play a lot of games and I am a new Mac user as well. This plays great on my new MacBook Pro, 2.6 GHz, 4 Gb RAM, 512 video RAM, 200 Gb 7200 rpm drive, 17 -inch glossy screen Hi-Res. Smooth video and action. No problems what so ever. I'm very pleased. Rating: - Demo runs well; think full version will on my powerbook g4? Hi, I was curious if anyone knew if CoD2 ran well on a powerbook 64 (1.67mhz, 1gig, Radeon9700); while i do not meet the specs on aspyr.com, the demo runs surprisingly well on my powerbook, so I was hoping the full version did too. Thanks. Rating: - Call of Duty 1... with better graphicsI'm not going to deny that if you are a CoD fan and have a Mac, you need this disc. With that in mind, however, note that this game is quite similar to its predecessor. If you are considering buying it, note that at this time, Call of Duty 4 is scheduled to come out in August for Mac, and is several times more amazing than this game, so think twice. Rating: - Not as good as the originalCall of Duty 2 is a good game, but trust me, the regular Call of Duty and the United Offensive is better. If you've never played the original, you'll probably like this, but if you've played the original, it just won't be as good. They've improved some things, but left out others. Improved: better AI better weapon sounds,(especially STG44), more German death cries (Call of Duty had WAY too little) better animation (some things are quite hilarious; for example, if you shoot a helmet off some enemy soldiers, they'll reach up, look startled, touch their head, and gesture wildly in bewilderment.) no medic kits to search for; instead, if you get hit, you've got to stay in cover for a couple seconds (this can be good or bad; you may like not having to search for a health box, or you might like the challenge or searching for one, it really doesn't matter to me) Left out: Exciting missions! These ones are hardly exciting; the original had unpredictable ones and tons of "cool stuff". The Russian Campaign, which you play first, is really good; the British one is boring: most of the the time you basically do nothing but clear houses and knock out machine-guns. As for the American one. . .eh. . .Pointe Du Hoc is great, and Hill 400 is alright, but really, they're nothing compared to the original. Oh, and one thing I really hated on the British tank missions is the language. I realize all war games have this and I usually don't mind, but when it comes to a tank crew member shouting "Son of a b****" every time a German shell hits your tank, I do mind. So again, if you haven't played the regular Call of Duty, you might like this, but if you have. . .you'll probably be disappointed. Rating: - A better version than the PC version.I owned the pc version of this before I purchased the Mac version. The Mac version seems to be smoother and with less problems than the PC version. So, if your a Mac user, don't be afraid to purchase it! The simulation is great and very realistic. If your running surround sound, you will hear the sounds of gun fire off in the distance which adds to the realism of the game. Not only is this a great simulation, it also seems to be historically accurate. The weapons, uniforms, and artilery are very accurately recreated. I would definitely buy this again!
