- so this is it..I love Vincent ever since playing FFVII.So of course I was determined to buy this game.I read a lot of reviews on amazon so I was aware of what Im buying. And still... The game is nothing but a monotonus action.Basically its something like finishing a level, only to see a nicely made video after it.This is what kept me going.I wanted to see Vincent in good graphics and to learn more about his story. Without this, the whole game isnt even worth playing.Shooter action? There are much more better games of this genre out there. I also found the plot to be quite ridiculous. The only things which made sense were about Vincents past (such as moments from the original FFVII shown in new graphics). Usually, I like to collect games, even if I dont play them often, I still keep them for my nice gaming collection. But Dirge of cerberus.I sold it on ebay after finishing 1 time, I knew I never gonna touch this game anymore. Videos? download them or watch on youtube, the game isnt worth buying because of them. Rent this game, and see what is it for you. Rating: - Story much better than GameplayThe gameplay is average at best. IT is a fairly simple game to beat, with predictable levels. The story of the game is what makes it worth buying. Fans of Final Fantasy will enjoy for this alone. A must for Final Fantasy fans, for others....not so much. Rating: - novice gamer loved this game! This is my first shooter game. You have to use both the right and left control sticks together. (that gave me a bit of grief! ha!) I am not sure why this game didn't get better reviews because I have really enjoyed it. I am a 42 and just started gaming about a year ago. I never got stuck anywhere and couldn't figure out how to continue the game... so that also made me happy. I am playing it on the normal setting. The hard setting might be different... but why make things harder if you don't have to? HA! I would recommend this game fo $20. Rating: - The Sequal you always wantedGreat game. The sequal you always wanted to play to get all of the details of Vincent's past and Lucrecia's motives. You only ever get to play Vincent or Cait Sith, though. Not the typical Final Fantasy RPG, it seems more your typical blow-em-up/shoot-em-up game. Fun nonetheless and the cut-scenes are really great. The storyline is just as captivating as any other Final Fantasy storyline. Highly recommend for any Final Fantasy lover. Rating: - A Shooter Mostly for Final Fantasy FansIf you liked the original Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation and liked it as much as to want to go back to the setting the story takes place in, I definitely recommend Dirge of Cerberus. Taking place 3 years after the events of the original, you now take the role of Vincent Valentine and go back to places like the Shinra Mansion, Junon, the wrecked trains area in the slums, and more to find out more about the story of this character. You'll get to see a few cameos from the other characters of FFVII, but don't expect to play as Cloud, Tifa, Barret, or any of your other favorite characters. Yuffie, Cait Sith, and Cid are the ones who appear the most along with Vincent. People looking for ONLY a shooter or a "real" FPS, probably won't like DoC as much as I did, because the storyline is kind of out of pace with the rest of the game. Some sequences (which you CAN skip) last anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 minutes. This is "normal" for Final Fantasy players, but will probably seem like forever for people looking for continuous action. And even though the story is well-explained if you didn't play the original you won't understand what's going on as much as we do. Let's say that if you liked FFVII and FFVII: Advent Children and want more, than get this game. If you saw Advent Children and had no idea what was going on, this is probably not for you.
