 - Please answer this for me....Do you mind me asking at what age do you think a kid could get this and be able to play this?? Also, I've been trying to find and have not been able to find out if the graphics are gory (ie: blood, etc) or individual people getting hurt. I have a six year old who LOVES u-boats and submarines and my husband has allowed him to play several games that unfortunately after I found out that it shows individual PEOPLE getting hurt, I had to do the Mom thing and take them away. What I'm torn about is that he is mentally IS capable to play advanced games, ie: his favorite is: Enigma Rising Tide (?)...he CAN play Command & Conquer but I have 'taken' that one away although his Dad lets him play when I'm not around. I AM impressed with my son's ability to comprehend these games so I would like him to enjoy them but with also not exposing him to people getting blown up and such. Obviously, I KNOW and he knows that if you blow up a battleship, sub or an airplane that there are people theoretically in it but I don't want the graphics to show that for his age.... So...IS there a battleship, u-boat or say WWII game or something along those lines that have somewhat easy levels of strategy games that do not have graphics where it shows people getting hurt??? Rating:  - My Thoughts on Battlestations MidwayThis is an excellent game featuring many single player scenarios and lots of multiplayer action. If you are in the market for a war simulation game, this is one of the games that you need to try. Rating: - Debunking the misconceptions[...] I'm here to clear some things up. It's your fault if it doesn't load. Your system must be capable of handling it. Read the required specs before buying. My computer is 2 1/2 years old and plays it just fine. I did put in an extra half gig of RAM and a $[...] (at the time) graphics card in it when I bought it. Still, it's 2 1/2 years old. Any "state of the art" computer should be able to handle it, if mine can. If you're still not sure, download the free multiplayer demo to try out your system's ability ro run it. I was unsure about mine, so that's what I did. My computer handled the demo just fine, with medium to high settings. I bought the game and have had some rare, minor stuttering but nothing more. There's a profile you can enter to play all the levels, if you suck at the game. It's not too hard to figure out what it is but a Google search will dig it up for you, if you have no sense of the obvious. The game is short. However, it's done well and you can ramp up the difficulty if you like. If you breeze through it on rookie, don't go thinking you've accomplished anything. There are also awards, in the form of virtual medals, to shoot for. Furthermore, the challenge missions will give nearly everyone but warfare strategy masterminds a hard time. It can be fun facing seemingly insurmountable odds. It can also be very frustrating. Sailing right into the heart of a carrier force, commanding the mighty Yamato, is a fun excercise. I only wish you could command some American Iowa Class battleships. Using the main guns on capital ships is fun. I'm not into excessive micromanagement. If I was, I would have joined the Navy and had a go at this stuff firsthand. I am somewhat interested in the Pacific Theater of WWII as my father served in the Pacific just after WWII (in the Army Air Corps Engineers). As a child, I was fascinated by his stories of the aftermath wreckage he saw. It's nice to have a game based on the Pacific Theater that doesn't completely stink. If you're into micromanagement to the point that you wish to control everything, down to making sure every sailor has a fresh pair of underwear, don't bother with this game. If you like action games with a decent, but not overwhelming, dose of strategy, this game is for you. If you're remotely interested in both the Pacific Theater of WWII and video games, this is pretty much a must-buy. There really aren't many other good options. Rating:  - skunked by a computer game company againI can't write a review for this game. It won't play on my computer and I am stuck for 40 bucks because I can't return it. There ought to be a law against not being able to return computer games that don't work for you. Rating: - Would Not LoadI was very disappointed in Battlestations: Midway. I have a state-of-the-art pc and after installation, the game would not even load the tutorial. I returned Battlestations:Midway to Amazon the next day. Like I said, a huge disappointment. I usually sell my pc games on Amazon but in this case I refuse to "stick" somebody else who buys this program with the expectations that its playable.
