 - MUCH MUCH Better than sample pictureI just got mine today and first I suggest that this toy, more like colletible is for ages 8 and up. It alows you to detach the mark I phaser from the mark II. The Mark I is the one witch detaches from the top.(Also Known as on the pictire the black object on top.) It will fire, but the mark II cannot fire when the mark I is dettached. This phaser has an overload setting as well as Stun level I,II,III,and KILL. The overload will increase pitch of the Firing noise till an explotion sound. other phasers are extremly expensive but this phaser is very ATHENTIC with EXTREME Qulity. Rating: - Art Asylum ST:TOS Phaser IIWell molded and authentic from the series. The variable lights/sounds settings are fun, as is the ability to separate the Phaser I from the Phaser II. Re. the above feature: after a few months, the plastic tab that clips the Phaser I into the Phaser II broke off at the back. I made a new tab to the approximate shape out of Fix-It Epoxy, and restored this function of the toy. All in all, the phaser with which I would have loved to have terrified the neighborhood, when I was a kid! AA, please create an authentic communicator and tricorder someday! Rating:  - Yay, my new Star Trek toy!I was so happy to get this, but a little dissappointed when one of the key pieces broke that holds a major part of the whole thing together. Rating: - awesome!this is an awesome toy/replica. lots of fun. i been wanting this for 15 years and now i have one - now i need a tricorder :) Rating: - Very cool!I bought this as a gift for a fellow Star Trek enthusiast. I didn't take it out of the box, but you can see and hear it through the packaging. It's NOT teal, as in the picture. More of a grey finish. Looks good. The person to whom I sent it absolutely loved it, and, having played with it through the packaging, I now want one for myself. I watched the original Star Trek series as a teenager, so you can guess my age. This phaser is COOL! I'm ordering one for myself.
