Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Bug Zapper
I received the 5 bug zappers. I am giving them to family and friends. We have lots of mosquitoes in Mississippi so I wanted to try this item. It is a great gift to give especially when you have lots of bugs! I was glad that I ordered them.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Can't be more pleased
I've got two of these in my house now. Before, I used fly swatters, which would leave a nasty mess of fly parts when I swatted them successfully.

With this racket, I am more successful with the random Karate Kid pot-shots at the fly while it's zipping around as well as trapping it when it's resting on the wall.

Like other reviewers have said, the first hit usually just stuns them. But that's ok because after they're stunned, they're easy target.

And that's where the fun begins. Once the fly (or any other bug) gets trapped in the triple-layered mesh strings, I shake the racket like a skillet and watch as it gets enough electricity for it to die.

Then I just flip it over and toss it into the garbage. Throughout the process, I barely touch the bug, and I don't have to clean up after the bug parts like I did when I squished them with a fly swatter. I don't get a perverse pleasure out of killing these bugs; it's just pleasant to get rid of pests in a relatively clean way.

I don't catch everything with this, but catching has become so much easier when I do make attempts at catching them.

The battery usage is reasonable especially with 2 x AA batteries, and that makes it light enough for good manuevering. Also the price is right. Give this a try.

Now the only caveat is that I've only used this for a few months. I'd like to see how long this lasts.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Does not work
This product is terrible. The current is really weak, so there is a relatively long delay before the flies die. During this time, they can just fly away to safety.

A regular fly swatter is much more effective.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Flys? notsomuch, but super on roaches
Depress the button and get excited when you see how well these things do with roaches. Instead of a splat and crunch, all you'll get is a small pop, a little spark, and a stunned roach that sticks to the coil when can then be easily carried to a toilet and flushed without even wasting a paper towel. Buy a bunch and give to all your friends. They may be skeptical at first but it is easily the best invention since sliced bread :)

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - This thing is suppose to kill flys?
This thing is worthless, I actually trapped a fly against a window and it crawled through the wire mesh and got out! The button was pushed and nothing happened. I even went as far and got my multimeter out and checked the voltage (measured around 8 volts) on the wires. Not sure how this thing is suppose to kill bugs at 8 volts. I was doubtful prior to purchase but read the postive reviews and decided to try it out. One of those live and learn type of experiences.
