- customer service is a jokeRadio takes alot out of you when trying to deal with XM "listener care" skyfi 3 has lots of bells and whistles but have fun trying to dial them in. thats why XM is dumping them for a low price, delphi made another bad product. Once XM gets your money and overcharges you for socalled 3 month prepay and 6.99 a month for additional radio lies, your on your own. the best way to deal with this radio is have it professionally installed with an FM direct module (i installed this myself) and play with it using the manual. the asian listener care personnel are zero help in any category. this is true for and part of XM. 800-XMRADIO gets you only to the phillipines and have fun trying to get thier broken english, frustration level......98 out of 100 0 Rating: - Delphi Skyfi3 XM ReceiverExcellent receiver and works great in my car. Price on the receiver was just fantastic and was shipping was fast and professional. Excellent little portable player to! Highly recommend Crutchfield for all of your component needs Rating: - WHY ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ????Why all the bad reviews, I bought this product in spite of all the bad reviews I read, I figured that for 39.95, what the heck. As soon as I received it I plugged it to my PC and put in the new upgrade that is supposed to take care of the problems, I put a 2 gig card in it for the mp3's. Now I am assuming that all the complaints were coming from people who dont know what their doing, because I mounted mine on motorcycle handlebars, which has 10 times the vibration of a car. I took a 600 mile trip with no problems at all, 00, natta, none. I love the way it works, and I used all the same wires, antenna, power, audio out, etc., the same wires I was using on my roady xt. I am totally satisfied with the skyfi 3 and would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Rating: - I don't understand what all the complaints are about!!I read so many negative reviews about the lock-up issue. I have had this happen twice but there are 2 simples actions to take to correct and prevent from happening. When the unit locks up, hold the power button and press the up volume button and it immediatly shuts off and you can power it back on. What usually causes a lockup is starting the car with the unit docked and the power adapter plugged in. When I got in the habit of unplugging the adpater when I shut off the car and plugging it back in after the car started I have not had a single lock up. I have a convertable and leave the top down at work and the temp has never caused a malfunction. The radio works great. I love it. As a matter of fact I switched from a competitor's portable radio on a different service. The competitor's device was a HORRIBLE piece of equipment but that is another review all together. As far as using this unit as an ipod I would not reccomend it. It is a little bulky. If you want portable tunes then buy an mp3 player. The design on the skyfi is good, it sits snugly in the cradle (more than I can say from the competitor's unit) Recording is simple and I love the bookmark feature that alerts you when an artist is playing on another station. Bottom line: If you want a great radio for the vehicle that will record your favotite songs and alert you when your favorite artist is playing then buy it! Great price. If you want a portable player to run, bike, hike, etc then get an mp3 player. I would, without hesitation, reccomend this unit. Rating: - lots of featuresWell I got my Skyfi when my Pioneer xm receiver was stolen. I was completely happy with my experience from that receiver so I expected no problems. The Skyfi is packed with so many features that are awesome. However the one thing that I need for it to do well it really sucks at. That one thing is the ability to broadcast the signal to my car radio. I can not get it to to broadcast a strong signal on any channel. I am going to by another little Belkin transmitter just to plug in the earphone jack since my car radio does not have a tape deck or an auxillary jack. No channel picks up well. They all have static when trying to pick up the Skyfi signal.
