- Intuit SucksTurbo Tax is fine. The linking into Quickbooks Pro (QBP) is limited to only the most recent 2 versions of QBP. So if you have an older version (older than 2005) you have to buy the new QBP to have Turbo Tax lift the data out of QB. Now Intuit will only sell a new version of 2007 - NO MORE UNGRADES. "For the consumer" they will tell you. BS, I will be changing accounting platforms as soon as I can find a replacement. This is the problem with software oligolopies! An Open Source replacement is much needed for both Tax prep and accounting. Rating: - Turbo Tax Federal + State Home & BusinessSoftware is excellent for anyone that has a small business or rental property. Rating: - Not as personal as a professional businessTax Pro, but better than some. With constant updates and checks, keeps you honest and up to date on latest rulings. Had State filing I didn't need, but I did need other information. Have used this for several years for personal and small business, with great results. Rating: - Must have for self-employedI've used this product for years, and it is excellent. Must have if depreciating anything because it does all the calculations for you, and it transfers relevant data from year to year. Make sure you buy the version that includes state. Also great for itemizing deductions and finding new deductions for you. Rating: - easy diylove it. after paying over $300 to have a woman I didn't know read computer prompted questions to me I decided this was something I could do myself, with a little help. TurboTax stepped me through it. It is not a replacement for a GOOD tax person who offers advice and knows your situation, but better than the generic tax prep service on any given street corner.
