 - Motorola SB5101 High Speed ModemReceived the product promply and exactly as advertised. I was having periodic dropouts on my old modem using Cox service. Since installing this modem, I have had no dropouts and I am absolutely delighted with the performance. Rating: - RebateThe Motorola surfboard Modem is exactly what I ordered, however, the rebate promised to be a real hassle (Motorolas fault). They refused my rebate and required re-submission of proof that it was eligible for rebate. Now I must wait an additional 6-10 weeks. Perhaps Amazon could clarify this matter with Motorola. Rating: - Motorola Surfboard, the best cable modem you can buyI owned a SB4100 for about 10 years before buying the new SB5101. The SB4100 worked great, but I wasn't getting the extra speed I was paying for with Cox Premium package. A friend recommended I upgrade my modem and I figured after 10 years I might as well. While I do notice a speed increase, this is only due to my purchase of the extra service from Cox. Don't expect this to increase your speed without paying for the premium package. Rating: - Excellent Cable ModemExcellent cable modem for the price. The speed is a lot higher than what I got with the rented cable modem from Comcast. I would recommend this modem to everyone. Rating: - Worked well for the last 3 years, no problems at all.I've been using this modem for the last 3 years, I've changed routers (D-Link, Linksys) during that time but the modem is still going strong. I've not experienced any problems with it at all with my Comcast Broadband connection. I had not realized that Comcast had been charging me $3.95 for modem rental per month before I got this modem. It therefore makes sense to get your own modem. I got mine as part of a retail store promotion. If you signed up for Comcast at the big box electronics store, they sent you a gift card for the value of the modem when you activated your account. I'm not sure if that promotion is still ongoing after 2-3 but you can check at your local electronics store.
