- Magnum P. I. - The Complete Sixth Season by Gilbert M. Shilton, Robert Totten This was a very good buy at Christmas time. It was a gift and very well received. Rating: - Magnum PIWe absolutely enjoyed watching this series - if you are a Magnum fan you will love it. Rating: - Not my favorite season...."Ok, it is difficult for anyone to avoid getting stuck in a rut. My little voice was telling me that we should be doing more interesting or funny back stories. But what could I do? I was a big movie star at the time. After all, Quigley was about to come out." I love Magnum P.I. I even have some trivia up on my web site. But the shows in seasons five and six kind of bore me. They don't have an edge to them. They're like a pasture or minister. Sure you like happy positive stories some times, but you also want to see the darker side of humanity. I think the biggest problem with this season is that the B-stories or side-stories do not have enough conflict. They're not sexy or nasty enough. For a TV show to be good, you have to have good side stories. If you like Magnum P.I., read my book or watch seasons one through four or seven and eight. If you love, love, love Magnum then you might as well buy this one too. But I doubt you'll go to this box first when you have an itch to watch a Magnum episode. Rating: - Another great season...This is yet another great season from the makers of Magnum PI. It is a great addition to my collection. You really need to purchase it to see for yourself. Rating: - ups and downs...Every show has its ups and downs...and Magnum's downs are a lot higher than the ups of most shows... -
