Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Peter Norton should scratch his name off of this product
I just got a machine with Vista Ultimate. I knew when MS came out with OneCare it was time to sell any Symantec stock, if I had any. After a horrid 3 day ordeal trying to install Norton 360 it's time to just go ahead and buy what Microsoft is selling, unless I want to change my OS. I'll bet the OneCare 90 day trial I just downloaded installs flawlessly!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - WISH I'D STUCK WITH NORTON ANTIVIRUS THIS IS AWFUL
I've been running this software for less than a month and totally regret buying this instead of just renewing my Norton Antivirus 2006, as it's a total waste of money and full of features I don't need. It does nothing for me that Antivirus regular version didn't do already, plus ALOT LESS.

First of all the system now takes FOREVER TO BOOT UP when I turn it on. It is several minutes before my connection is up and running, where as before, I was connected in mere seconds.

Secondly the status icon is always giving me that I have issues that are affecting my status, unless I decide to use their whole long process to back up, and the internet says I am not safe as my phishing filter is not turned on, and when I click fix, nothing happens. I use internet explorer 6 because I didn't like 7, but decided to try 7 again due to this problem, and even after successfully installing internet explorer 7, didn't help at all, still shows me as unsafe even when enabling the internet explorer built in phishing filter???

This software has many unnecessary features, windows built in firewall works great, and I realized this software disabled it, which I had to re-enable manually, and if you disable that on Norton 360, you get more risk status messages. Another unecessary feature is PC tuneup, I know how to clear the internet cache for cookies, temp files, history, know how to defrag the hard disc, so why do I need these features? I guess it's cool for folks who don't realize Windows HAS all these tools already.

For slowing down my computer, and having lots of extras no one really needs, and difficult interface that is hard to understand and run, I would NOT recommend Norton 360 to anyone, anywhere at anytime!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Norton 360 Ver 2.0
I have just recently upgraded to Norton 360 Version 2. I was running Norton Internet Security 2006 on 2 seperate computers (1.2Ghz laptop and 2.6Ghz desktop.) I can tell you that the install and initial scans take forever. (On the laptop, was over an hour.) However, after installation and all the scans were complete, boot times, downloads, virus scans were all faster with Norton 360 than Norton IS 2006. I have experience with just about every other Antivirus program, (mostly repairing friends computers who swore their programs were better.) I have installed Norton on all my computers and my families computers......and have yet to have a virus infection or system crash. Older versions of Norton tended to hog resources, but I am very happy with Norton 360 ver 2.0.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Little or no protection for you PC, but Not their fault
I have had Norton products for some time, and bought this for my 80yr old step-father's PC. He got a virus right past Norton 360. I chatted with Norton about the issue and for $99.00 they would help. Was the product installed Yes (I do this for a living), was it configured yes, was liveupdate lic current yes. In todays world I understand if an Security problem / issue happens, but Norton has no Free tools to help with (Like all the other vendors TrendMicro (HijackThis, House Call, Trend protect), McAfee, Microsoft Free Windows Defender, Free Protection Scan Web page, etc).) Norton seems to be in the business to sell you a Pricy Security solution, then if there is an issue / problem you must pay them to solve the problem their product let happen. Unless you're a large Company that has paid ahead for their help forget help. It is time to expect accountability for what we paid for. Guess which Premier products at 89.00 per year on my 3 PCs I will no longer renew. Other products give help with tools and you can use their products on 3 to 5 PCs. Yes you can use their Knowledge base, but unless you are a PC Pro, I found the other products mentioned above better for most folks. If you must buy Norton get their Internet security prod, but also check out CR reports ratings on such Security products. A older name may mean little if they offer no help when you really need help (keeping you free of such issues, finding and fixing on your PC, and tools when you do find you are in trouble.) . Happy Computing! JR

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Slow start up
I loaded this on 3 computers and I have noticed a significant different in boot up time now when powering up the computer after I installed Norton 360.
