- Great RadiosI think these are great radios because they go very long but not 26 miles. Also because they have a built-in NOAA Weather radio and that could come in handy. They have 22 channels, a long battery life, battery packs and charger. Although they are very expensive. Usually I use them with my friends when I am outside and they are inside. Rating: - worked okThey worked good in big open space but of course don't expect them to work the same when there are obstacles between them. Also, the advertised range is a little exaggerated... Rating: - Midland RadioWorks as I expect. Reasonable range for neighborhood use. 2-3 miles with lots of obstructions present. Rating: - not as they said..... :(it said this product is great....but it's not :( it's hard to get an open signal and the battery only last an hour even we didn't use it. Rating: - Great for personal useI purchased these to use in town to be in contact with our son when he is out around the neighborhood. We use them daily. We do not use the total range they are intended for but have had great luck for what we need. The weather channel has also been great as just the other night we were out for a walk and the weather alert came on notifying us there was severe weather in the area and where is was going. Another feature that is great is that they can be put on vibrate so when one is being paged, not everyone knows and doesn't draw attention to what you are doing.
