- So much more than I had hopedI bought the PowerShot to take on vacation with me. The pictures are incredibly sharp and clear. This is a tremendous improvement over my FujiFilms 4 mp. I am very pleased. Then I went to a Lyle Lovett concert, pulled the zoom and suddenly it was 16x zoom! I have pictures that look like he was standing inches away from me! Maybe I ought to read the manual? This was a lovely surprise and I wouldn't trade this camera for anything. Rating: - Everyone need to have one of this excellent, handy cameraEveryone need to have one of this excellent, handy camera. I bought one for everybody in my family. My wife, 2 sons, my sister, we all carry it in the pocket, in the purse. The life is full of wonderful, beautiful sights what worth to record, load in the computer and review again and again. It also make excellent movie footages. If a picture or footage become not so important later, than you just delete it. It didn't cost you a penny, not a photographer processed it, you did. You buy photo paper and print a picture on it, than frame and hang on the wall. All takes just minutes and with this fantastic little camera you produced everlasting memories for the future to look back. We all love our little camera. You will too. Regards, Laslo Bako Rating: - Great so far...I haven't used it a lot, but the quality seems to be good and I have had no problems to date. I would recommend it to anyone for the price. Rating: - Almost perfect+ Takes great pictures, very clear, good auto white balance. + Has underwater mode (filters blue) to go along with the available underwater housing. + Display is very clear and bright, even in moderate sunlight. + First shot lag from power-on is pretty good, about 1.5 seconds I'd guess. + Works well with the underwater housing. + Very small, but feels solid. - Controls are slightly confusing, but no worse than other subcompacts. - Glossy screen smudges easily. - A little on the heavy side for a subcompact, but still pocketable. - Flash modes not easily adjustable without going into manual mode. Overall, a very good camera, would buy again! Rating: - A Clear Winner!A co-worker let me borrow his for an accident investigation. When I returned to the office, I went straight to the internet, did some research and purchased my own. Lightweight, easy to operate, excellent zoom and a good number of setting to choose from. The photos are fantastic and the video is so incredible. Between photos and video, I went through two 2-Gig memory cards without having to recharge the battery. That, in itself, was amazing. After having to change the rechargable AA batteries (twice) in my wife's Kodak EasyShare C340, before she even filled the 32Mb memory card, I was overly impressed. From distant, to aquarium tunnel, to multiple faces, to the finest flora and fauna details, this Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph Camera is a clear winner. Very possibly the last camera I'll ever buy.
