- Best deal so farI kept swaying between getting this one or the Star Wars combo pack. Picked this one because it was a better deal. On top of getting a new psp slim and game, you get a 1 GB memory card and the family guy show. I would still come out ahead minus the cool Darth Vader litho, when I buy the Star Wars game separately. I also ended up buying a rubber skin for my psp and this would have covered up the litho anyway. Unfortunately I have not had much time to play my psp because of work schedule and new baby, but will give it a work out next time I'm at the terminal catching a flight. I like being able to play movies, show pictures, play music and surf the web with it. I can't get it to display yahoo mail correctly though. All the messages are pushed to the far right and unreadable. Few other sites I visited were fine. Over all, it is very versatile entertainment system and I would buy it again. Rating: - Best Portable I've ever owned!I bought this Ice Silver Daxter Pack from Amazon a month ago. Shipping was good, Product came as described. Man this psp is so cool. You got your games, your videos, movies, music, internet, internet radio, and now even internet telephone service via Skype for free. If your looking for something you can take on the road or even play at home, this is it. Must have for the tecnophile on the go. Would recomend this to anyone looking to take their media on the road and play some games in the process. Thank Amazon and Thanks Sony for making a very appeasing product. Rating: - Holy cow - Nintendo D SSS WHAT???I guess I jumped on the PSP bandwagon a little late, and I'm kicking myself for it. I bought one because I have a PS3 that I swapped in a 160GB hard drive and thought the remote play feature with the PSP would be really neat. And well, it is. I have tons of movies, pictures, some music, PS ONE games that I can play remotely, and I leave my media server on as well and I can access that via the remote play as well. It's freakin incredible. Basically, I can access all this media and even remotely play games from ANYWHERE with a WiFi internet connection. Turn on/off my playstation from anywhere with WiFi as well! So I decided to really take advantage of this machine, I got a couple large memory sticks for it, and loaded them with full length movies I downloaded/ripped from my dvd collection, with PSP Video 9, you can get great quality and a full movie for only 360mb or so. I also took advantage of the TiVo ToGo functionality and have tons of shows that I stick on it from my TiVo as well... freakin awesome. And why is this so awesome? Because the screen on the PSP is big, it's clear, it's widescreen, and it rocks for watching/listening to video. The device is very lightweight and "portable" thats for sure. I also recently setup a LocationFree base with my Comcast DVR, and I can now watch/record -- well, basically use my DVR/television from anywhere with WiFi, and you can get the boxes on eBay for like Fourty bucks... Freakin unbelievable. I use it all the time when I'm on trips to other states, I'll actually hook up the video out on the PSP and I can watch MY recorded shows on my hotel or friends television, holy cow! And thats not all. The UMD movies and games rock too. And if thats not enough, the PSP games are mega cheap, most under $20. And many of them are quite fun with surprisingly good graphics and animation for a portable system. And it just keeps getting better, with WiFi, you can play many games online against other challengers, jesus, with a portable???!? WHY anyone would get an xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii/DS is beyond me when Sony is absolutely blowing the market away with their offerings. It's just a shame people don't generally know about the LocationFree Tv viewing and ease of use the PSP offers as a media player. The games rock, and just about everything else rocks about this system... oh, and the battery life is surprisingly good too... Get a screen protector, you won't regret it, and you can pick up double capacity batteries for $10 as well and keep a spare! But you rarely need it. LOVE THIS THING!!! For the price it costs, it's a freakin steal. Get the Daxter or Star Wars version as you get a LOT for the extra $30, it's totally worth it. Rating: - Okay for a teen or adult but not children!Got it for my 10 year old for xmas.. she loved the games! Shes had it now 2 months. However, The PSP is EXTREMELY DELICATE! The slot for the memory card is flimsy. She set it down on the couch and it touched a screw driver, and it cracked the screen! I mean come on she didnt throw it! So I say dont spend the $200 unless it for an older teen or adult. Rating: - Hard to BelieveI don't understand how the Gameboy sells so much more than the PSP. This is really an incredible portable entertainment system. Movies, pictures, music, internet and games. Pretty soon you will be able to use it as a phone as well. I had the older style, but when the new version came out I bought it as well to compare. You lose nothing with the new version and only gain with the new features and slimmer/lighter casing. I have had it for 3 months now, and even though your first thought might be that it is flimsy, it is really a sturdy system. I use it every day and I have not had a problem at all. I do take the precautions of having the protective film cover over the screen(it does scratch easily) as well as having a good case to put it in when I am not using it. The battery life is long and the pack in game(Daxter) and the movie(Family Guy) are top notch. The only drawbacks to the system is the unevenness of the games. Many are just ports from the ps2. With God of War and Metal Ops coming, hopefully things are on the upswing. The only other qualm I have is with the lack of warning when the battery is about to die. Many times I will be right in the middle of a game and I get a 1 second warning before the battery dies. Even a 10 second warning would give me time to save before it cuts out. That aside, this is a terrific system.
