 - Terrible Customer ServiceI have the TomTom130. Since Day 1, the unit has been malfunctioning (failure to turn on, lost satellites, incorrect directions, etc.) TomTom supports a 14-day warranty ONLY on this $200 electronic item. When I contacted them, they basically told me "tough luck". I would switch to a manufacturer that produces a higher quality product with a stronger warranty. Rating:  - MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR MAPS WITHIN 30 DAYS!I was going on a trip to Florida in April and bought this at the last minute before I left. I compared it to the basic Garmin and Magellan GPS's and purchased it because the price was right and delivery was quick. Very nice for a basic GPS, although it does not give street names. Screen is difficult to see in bright light. So far, it has been quite accurate. The biggest caution I would offer is to make sure you connect to a computer and do the free upgraded maps within the 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, there is no way to get the newer maps without paying big bucks. I contacted TomTom customer service (mind you, I had to go to the [...] database to find a valid phone number), and while the representative was very nice, she said there was no way she could help me with the map update after 30 days. She did recommend that I update the customer corrections which have been submitted, which I have done. Guess I should have read all the fine print more carefully, but it arrived in the mail and went right into my suitcase and I didn't go back to the paperwork until after a month later. My bad. Otherwise, I like the unit, but would have prefered a larger screen and street names in the verbal assists. Rating:  - Do not do business with this companyDo not do business with this company. I just bought this product and have had nothing but trouble with map updates and their technical support department. Their solution to everything is try and sell you upgrades and then you discover you have to purchase hardware updates to use the upgrades. They are the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with and have a total lack of customer service mentality. Be warned that these units come with very outdated maps. Rating: - TomTom One 3rdReceived it in good time and I have used it a few times. Works fine for me. Rating: - TomTom 3rd editionExcellent service, fast shipping. The TomTom one 3rd edition is a great little gps system. The only problem I have is after the first initial map upgrade, subsequent upgrades are charged and this is not really explained before purchase. I'll probably sell this one instead of upgrading in a year or so as the new system won't cost much more than the upgrade. Other than that, works as expected.
