- GREAT SCANNERThis is a great scanner, very versatile, and easy to load software that worked perfectly. Recommend to anyone wanting to do some serious scanning. Rating: - Love it.I absolutely LOVE my scanner. It is easy to use and the resolution is wonderful. I use it all the time for scanning documents, but not with the Omnipage OTR software that comes with it (at least as a trial version). After a lot of research, I purchased the Readiris program and am 100% pleased with it. Together, the Canon 8800F and the Readiris are amazing. Rating: - Best scanner I've usedThe Canon CanoSCan 8800F Scanner is fast, quiet and easy to use. I love the ability to scan two photos at once (which a lot of scanners have, but, not at this speed). The deal I found at Amazon was $30 cheaper than anywhere else. My only complaint is the large footprint. It's larger than the Epson Scanner it replaced, and you expect new technology to be smaller. But I'll gladly accept the large footprint for the fast speed. This scanner produces results comparable or better than the Epson, and it does it in 20% of the time. Rating: - CanoScan Can!Since getting my CanoScan I have been busy converting hundreds of slides and negatives to JPG format, so that I can story them onto CD's for future use. The 8800F is easy to set up an use. It is everything I imagined it to be and I have more functions for which I have yet to try. I would recommend the CanoScan 8800FD to people who might be looking for a photo scanner for sildes, negatives and photos for home use. Rating: - inexpensive versatile scannerWorks well on color prints, documents, 35mm slides, AND [by trial and error] with 2.25" x 2.25" slides. Exceeded expectations. FIVE STAR
