 - REALLY GOOD SOFTWAREI have been using Norton's product ever since I've been using home computers. I always just purchased a new version instead of renewing online with Norton, because it was cheaper. I finally broke out and after much researching reviews, I went with BitDefender because of the consensus of reviews and the great price offered by Amazon (usable on 3 pcs). I installed it on my Vista desktop and my XP notebook. So far so good after several weeks. None of the horror stories I read in some reviews, in fact, it found some issues on both my computers which Norton did not. The only issue is on the Vista PC which it's installed windows defender does not recognize BitDefender as the installed virus program. Other than that, everything is hunky-dory as far as I can tell and I'm certainly not in the "geek" realm of computers. Amazon shipping was really quick, as usual. Rating: - Does the job.So far I'm pleased with this product. It's non intrusive to the operating system and doesn't slow down the machine at all. It has done a good job of blocking what needs to be blocked and cleaning up the drives. Rating:  - Product that gets the job done.Use the internet to save money. I found this and throught it was a hell of a deal until I finished the install and it told me I was covered for 2 years instead of one (WOW!)...Cake with Icing! I have had many issues with McAfee & Norton but this product works on everything I use. Rating:  - Good at first, horrible over timeI installed this product on three different machines (all running WinXP), two desktops and one laptop. The laptop stopped spinning down the disk and my battery life dropped significantly. After a month of discussions with support, I finally gave up and suffered with the reduced battery life. On the desktops, it worked pretty well until one day my wife's computer would go 100% CPU on boot -- after a lot of pain, we finally found it was the bitdefender svchosts.ext process. I uninstalled it and the problem immediately went away... Sure enough, a few weeks later, the same thing happened to my desktop. Oddly enough, it took the laptop several months before the svchosts.exe problem happening, but eventually it did. I have given up trying to make this product work and moved to a different solution... Thank goodness it was cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. Rating: - BitDefender Antivirus 2008Signed on to this antivirus software for the 30 day free trial. Bought this before the 30 day trial was up. when I recieved the software from Amazon all I had to do was enter the key from the CD sleeve and the software kept working. No mus No fuss. I am using it on 3 computers. A Dell Laptop with Home XP, a Dell Desktop with Home XP and and old Mutt (many different parts from old computers) with Windows 2000 and I have had NO problems so I cannot comment on thier customer service. $30.00 for 2 years for 3 computers and No problems for approx 2 months. No Brainer.
