- Worth the wait! Better than I had hoped it would be.I missed the first round of Wii Fit availability in May, so I signed up for amazon.com's Text notice. The first two times I got a text message on my cell phone, I didn't respond fast enough, but the third time was a charm. I just replied "buyfit" and it posted to my account. Hurray! I was really looking forward to it after all I had read about it. It has not disappointed me. I am 36, on the computer all day at work, and although I used to be a regular at the fitness center and stayed in good shape, my physical fitness regime totally fell apart after my 2nd child (now 3 years old). I have a treadmill which I like, but it doesn't do anything for my upper body or other muscles. After years of neglecting many muscles, I finally feel like I am getting stronger and more energetic again. I am looking forward to losing weight, but mostly I am glad that I feel healthier. Evidently I do still have muscles in my shoulders and arms! :) I've never done yoga before so that's new to me; it's harder than I expected. I really enjoy the strength training exercises -- I love having a personal trainer, and I really like that I have to focus on keeping my balance during many of the exercises. It makes it more of a challenge and I like the competetiveness of trying to beat my previous score. The aerobics are really fun - love the running game. Even though it's running place, the scenery is fun. There is a 2-person running game, and my 3-year-old and 8-year-old both like to race me. I really like the aerobic step too. The balance games are fantastic. Really tough until you get the hang of it. My balance has improved a lot since I started 4 weeks ago. My 8-year-old is very into using the Wii Fit. I've never been one to let her play video games, but with the Wii Fit it's all exercise, and we have fun competing against each other and trying to beat each other's high scores. I don't feel at all bad about letting her spend time doing the Wii Fit games and exercises. I can't say enough good things about it, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what they come out with to top Wii Fit! Rating: - I'm hookedOk so when I was plunking down the 90 bucks for this game I thought, "this better be worth tracking down every store in a 100 mile radius over a period of 9 weeks to find it." IT TOTALLY WAS! I find that I am allergic to exercise, the mere thought of it gives me a panic attack, but because you are playing this game, you don't really realize that perhaps you are doing more activity than you normally would which could be classified as "exercise" because you spend 40 minutes not sitting on your butt. Are the balance games fun? Yes, and apparently I have no balance. My kids battle it out with me to play the game, which I find totally funny. They love the Yoga more than I do. Is it as vigorous as the tredmill? Well, I don't know, the running game is pretty intense (anyone ever try to run in place for 30 minutes? Holy cow....) I was sore after the first few days of the yoga and the strength training, and for those two areas alone it is well worth the money. Overall, money, gas and travel time (to find the thing), well spent for a game that has not missed a single day of use since we bought it 6 weeks ago. Rating: - How Does It Move Me?Wii Fit finally arrived in North America as of May 21st. It seems Nintendo's clever advertising in various magazines. Along with coverage in "health" segments on National News and cable. Has really paid off for the company. The sells for the release were astounding. On par in personal experience with two major franchise (SSB:B, MKW) release nights. Which is quite a feat' for a new "Wii" titled experience. How the title fares in the long run has yet to be seen. Yet I'm pretty sure once word of mouth gets out the game will continue to have successful sales. As everyone knows by now, Wii Fit includes the Balance Board. Which works as a 3-Dimensional scale to measure your Body Mass Index (BMI) and Center Of Balance (COB). The board also has a digital persona built into Wii Fit that introduces itself from your initial way in. Offering suggestions on how to reach your set personal goals. As for the actual board the quality is of Nintendo standard. It can hold up to 330lbs/150kg, and has surprising accuracy. The Wii Fit software is rather versatile, with an expansive selection of up to 40 games/exercises. Split into four categories(Yoga, Strength, Aerobics, and Balance) each focused on certain points of "Body Training" for a healthier life. I know the premise may sound a bit bland. Leaving most wondering if this game is nothing more than a gimmick to make "working out" appear to be fun. But I can't stress enough how much fun it really is. Despite being nothing more than a digital personal trainer. An if you have been thinking of beginning a daily work out regime yet haven't wanted the bother. This title does justice to relieving that bother and entertaining you all the while you really feel the burn. If one was to set bi-weekly goals for themselves and really stick to a daily routine of Wii Fit. It certainly would be no problem to achieve results. From only two days with the product and I can already tell a difference in my physical performances. My starting desired results is to gain 5lbs, so I'm certainly going to give Wii Fit my own personal test over the next few weeks. I plan to post the results once this set period is over. I'm feeling rather confident about that goal at the moment. Check back here in two weeks to find out how that all goes. My Mother has also joined in on the "healthy" fun and began her own goal to lose weight. Then once my sister and nephew seen us enjoying it they had to get in on the fun as well. So if you and or anyone else in your family have been wanting to get into shape but lack motivation. Wii Fit is just what you need. Its well worth the price ($89.99) if you really get into all the game has to offer. An stick to your suggested routines to achieve desired goals. Rating: - Weight Limit is 330 lbs. While Wii Fit has the potential to allow someone at nearly any fitness level to get up and move it does have limitations. I was very disappointed to discover that the weight limit of 330lbs was slightly under my own weight. If you weigh more than 330lbs, and you think you would enjoy playing on a Wii Fit to get into shape, call this number at Nintendo: 1-800-255-3700 and ask for an operator. You can then request that they send a feedback item to the management to let them know you want a WiiFit Balance Board that supports more than 330lbs. Currently Nintendo has no intentions of making a Balance Board that supports more than 330lbs because the cost to manufacture goes up quite a bit to have a larger movement and weight sensor put in the board. This of course increases the cost to the consumer. However, in light of the fact that I could actually participate with my family rather than stand about looking stupid and moping because I can't join in, I would spend the extra money. If you would too, be sure to let Nintendo know by calling that number! Lets all have fun and get fit! Rating: - Fun, fun, funI was never a gamer but figure will give it a try. Along with Wii Sport, the Wii Fit is great. The idea of revealing more games after you spend more time on it is great, it really motivates me to play more. If you are looking for fun indoor activities, this is the way to go. But if you want to use Will Fit to replace your regular exercise routine and to lose weight fast, then this is not for you.
