- twice burnedMy accountant died and everyone said I could do my own taxes. Last year, it worked but I couldn't print a copy for my files. This year, the on-line update isn't working and gives me a server error. It is the only thing I can't do on my high speed cable modem, so it must mean their server. They sell and incomplete product and do not support the updates (there is no human support). Next year I'll find a younger accountant. Rating: - TurboTax Premier Federal & State 2007Product was easy to use and provided more than sufficient information and suggestions as to what type deductions were available. In many cases suggested entries were provided that I had not previously considered. Definitely a "must have" product for the tax season. Rating: - The 2007 Lemon!!!I think that after five years, I can call myself a long-time user of Turbo Tax Premier, and until now, I have loved it. The 2007 Premier edition, however, was so full of unremovable glitches that I had to start a completely new return (The first version gave me a gratuitous 7000 tax credit, which I did not enter, and it had the Feds awarding me over $500 and the State, $3500 (I should live so long!). It's a good thing that I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, or I might have filed the return, and the Feds would be soon awarding me something else!!! My second effort came out right (I hope!). Why does Turbo Tax have to monkey with their software every year? Last year, it was not broken, so why fix it? This year it was an utter time-wasting disaster!!! Were I one to believe in conspiracies (and I am not--usually), i would almost think that the deterioration of the software was part of a plot by CPAs to bring back the business that they have lost from self-preparation tax software. But such a scenario would be ridiculous. Wouldn't it? Rating: - Better than Deluxe but still has problemsRunning on OS X 10.4.11 on a Mac. See Review for Deluxe. Intuit Customer Support furnished copy of Premier when two copies of Deluxe would not work properly. Unlike the Deluxe version, the Premier version would acknowledge my estimated tax payments on Form 1040. However, like the Deluxe version, the "Moving" deduction part of the program does not do any calculations. For example, in Easy Step, it told me that I didn't meet the 50 mile criteria although we moved 200 miles. A check of Form 3903 indicated that the program had not subtracted the two mileage entries, and did not register the expenses entered after the mileage difference was overridden. I don't think I can trust this program either. Will request refund. I bought a copy of Tax Cut and it has worked fine so far. Rating: - Easy to use.. walks you through the processI have used TurboTax for several years and have continued to be hapy with the product. It is easy to use and walks you through each step. It is nice that is pulls data in from previous year, if you used TurboTax, into the current return.
